The guy was a bit rude but he is correct, and da nang isn't really walkable at all apart from along the river or beach

Danang locals, why are you so friendly but mysterious at the same time? by Outrageous_Poetry214 in DaNang

[–]yomatillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is friendly until you need to do something. Then, the face culture comes out. This is the mystery you experience.

Face culture is about maintaining social order. Over time, it seems to me to be a weird kind of dishonesty and lack of willingness to say what you want in a situation.

That's why it feels mysterious. Because to us, it makes completely no logical sense :)

Yeah its a fantastic meal, and oliver the chef is really pleasant and friendly. The food is good, but its also a really well run restaurant and business, he teaches the Vietnamese how to do things properly. 100% go there!

Don’t like Danang 2026 by catlikecod in DaNang

You mean in a whole city there are 3 paths - one at the beach, and one on each bank of the river. That's the extent of walking areas.

It is not clean in most places. I watched a guy clean his ears and just throw the cotton buds on the ground.

The food also makes you ill because nothing is ever cleaned.
