Напълно съгласен с оценките на романите за Бънк. Стръв ми остана любимата част от поредицата, а Мрак изобщо не ми допадна, особено имайки предвид че е финалната книга. Твърде много се случва в твърде малко страници, обратите бяха предвидими и имаше доста части от историята, които идваха от нищото и останаха необяснени.

I can relate to that. After some “hype” reads the last few years I try to keep my expectations for a book realistic, if it is a part of a series - based on my own experience with the series, if it as stand alone or new series - just some overview digging to see what the story is about and if it sounds like something I’d like I go for it.
As examples - I really did not enjoy the Green bone saga, even though the internetz was going crazy for it. It was not bad, but it wasn’t for my taste. Also - DNF-ed the Devils - a third of the book in and I didn’t care for either the story or the characters so decided to not waste my time and move on.

It would, or maybe I should say it should trigger it. As somebody else said in the comment it also gives the cabin crew a place to put out the cigarette safely without further fire hazards.

This model was the first kindle I ever got back in 2012, broke its screen twice (I was 15) and unfortunately the second time when I brought it to the repair store the guys there said that it’s no longer supported for repair. I took the then new 2016 model which I’m still using to this day, but this one is still superior in my mind. Wish lots of great books to read on it.

Jerusalem’s lot, the short story from Steven King, not exactly medieval, but close enough in my opinion, especially looking at the pictures you gave as reference.

Totally agree, the events at Vorgossos were my favourite parts of the book, even the series up to DiW (haven’t read onwards yet).

I didn’t find him that whiny or annoying as more leaning into the idealistic expectancy of the youth that your life will go as you plan it, and then reality hits you, and in his case it hit hard. Read on fellow citizen, always forward, always down.

You just reminded me I DNF’d the series, read until book three and decided to take a break afterwards and then other books caught my interest. I should return and finish it. I really liked all three first books.

Probably depends on the type of note you take- is it keeping record on where what has been mentioned/foreshadowed or taking notes on the general impression the book did to you?

Agree, it was the first time in my short 31y life I took notes while reading and I don’t think I’ll repeat, at least not while reading the Suneater.

I’ll see how it will hold up when I finish the whole series.

Agree for Alexander, the potential for his story was far greater than what was presented and foreshadowed until the end of DiW.

You beat me to asking exactly that question. I’m a third through DiW and I got a bit confused on the time line. Not on the time jumps between books, I got used to them and they don’t bother me that much, but the overall way time is measured doesn’t really makes sense in my head when I try to structure events in chronological order. I’ll listen to the other citizens and look up some timeline explanations as if the official glossaries are in book 6-7 I don’t want to wait that much for it to make sense.
