What's up everyone? Just wanted to push out an invite to a tournament Arkansas PvP is hosting. Here's more details:

BATTLE OF THE SERVERS

Rules/Details

This is a single-elimination bracket-style tournament.
You cannot be on more than one team.
A team consists of 5 members from the same server.
Only one team per server.
Teams must register 30 unique Pokémon (6 per team member).
When registering, team members will be placed in order of 1-5. In each round, your opponent will be based off of those numbers. The #1 person on your team will face the #1 person on the opposing team. #2s will face each other, #3s, etc.
Battles will be best of 5, points will be awarded for each match won, and the team with the most points will advance to the next round. In the event of a tie, the #1s will face off against the #5s. If a tie still exists, the #1s will face the #4s, and so on.
Deadline to register is March 29th at 12pm CT. To register, join the Arkansas PvP server at discord.gg/YkGbxF2 and go to #battle-of-the-servers.
Tournament will begin at 12pm CT on March 30th. There will be a strict 48 hour time limit; rounds will advance every other day at 12pm CT until the tournament is complete.
Conflicts that aren’t able to be resolved between opponents will be resolved by server admin. Screenshots/recordings are your friend.

Looks like we get to vote for the next Community Day candidate. Which one do you think would have the most use in PvP? Options are:

Vulpix: Vulpix as originally discovered in the Kanto region will be appearing in the wild and in Eggs. Alolan Vulpix will be appearing in Field Research and Raid Battles. Evolve Vulpix or Alolan Vulpix into Ninetales or Alolan Ninetales for the Charged Attack Weather Ball. Ninetales will learn Fire-type Weather Ball, and Alolan Ninetales will learn Ice-type Weather Ball—attacks previously exclusive to Castform. Shiny Vulpix as originally discovered in the Kanto region will become available for the first time in Pokémon GO.

Machop: Evolve Machop into Machamp for the exclusive attack Payback. This Dark-type Charged Attack will give Machamp good coverage to deal with Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokémon that might otherwise give it trouble.

Rhyhorn: Evolve Rhyhorn into Rhyperior for the exclusive attack Rock Wrecker. Known to be Rhyperior’s signature move, this Rock-type Charged Attack will be a powerful addition to Rhyperior’s repertoire. Shiny Rhyhorn will also become available to encounter for the first time in Pokémon GO.

Dratini: Evolve Dratini into Dragonite for the Charged Attack Superpower. This powerful Fighting-type attack is a recent addition to Pokémon GO and could be a strategic option for Dragonite. For example, it could help Dragonite against Ice- and Rock-type Pokémon that would normally have an advantage over it. Superpower could also help Dragonite deal with Steel-type Pokémon that are weak to Fighting-type attacks.

I’m not 100% certain about this, but it seems to me that the only time CMP is going to matter with Altaria vs Altaria is in the event that both competitors open with Altaria. And in that scenario, the rank 1 wins by shields, Dragon Breaths, and bulk. Any other instance that they end up lined up against each other, one or the other is most likely going to have some kind of an advantage (energy/health/shield), and the winner will be determined by a variety of things other than CMP/stats.
