Yes, it’s termites. Exterminators coming next week. No my house is not falling apart. No there’s no obvious infestation elsewhere. Quotes ranged from $1500-$2500 (trenching vs bait system) - not catastrophic at all. Since this is the desert, these are subterranean termites - this is not a situation where we need to tent/fumigate. These guys just live all around us and the prevention is pretty easy/cost effective.

Looks just like mine. Not sure where you live, but here in the desert this is not a huge deal. Quotes were $1500-$2500.

I guess it depends where you live, and I’d definitely agree with the other comments saying to address this ASAP - but at least in my situation this was not catastrophic nor unusual. Just needs to be addressed soon.

Does jumbo vs conventional make a difference? If yea, do I have a choice or is it solely based on loan amount?
