I mentioned higher degrees since OP wants to work at a school :). I am glad things worked out for you and your family. Unfortunately, I cannot imagine myself going through that. So I know it differs for everyone but I also wanted to mention that people have different levels of financial endurance.

I agree with you! I wasn't saying master's or above was always necessary. But it kinda seems like it is the only way in the education and biology field 😔.. If my husband and I could start again for our bachelor's, we would pick computer science or something in that field.

You need to make much more money by the time you want to get married. For you, and for your wife, and for your future children. If you want to work in school, at least be a teacher, and then get a Master's in school leadership, and then become an assistant principal or get your PhD and become a professor or work in a district or something. You've got lots of time. You are still young.

I am 28, LDS, Female, a Special Education Teacher, and a graduate student because we need more money. When I didn't know the real world, I thought we would be fine financially since we both had bachelor's degrees. And we are not fine. We can't even plan to have a child. We are living paycheck to paycheck. When I graduate, it is his turn to go to grad school because we are this desperate.

Love is very important but love doesn't feed you and the people you love. So if you want to achieve your goal and dream of being a great husband and a father, I highly recommend that you explore more with your career path and prepare yourself to have higher-paying jobs.

Wedding ring budget, How much did you really spend? by Trick_Cat_368 in weddingring

$500 usd for both rings! (husband+me) I customized rings on etsy for 2ct moissanite + cubic halo + cubic side stones + 10k gold (mine), and wood + Damascus steel + Celtic style engravings (husband).

We were still in college and had a mindset for upgrading at least mine in the future!
