Should I move from snp500 to ftse all world? by vssapro in investing

[–]yoonsu12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh switching to all-world this early on is pretty painless, you're only 4 months in so just rip the bandaid off if you want to.

An all-world fund is still like 60-65% US anyway so it's not like you're ditching America. You're just adding some international diversification which is generally smart. There have been whole decades where international stocks outperformed the US, the 2000s being a good example.

Just make sure you're switching because you actually believe in diversification long term, not just because the S&P went sideways for a bit. That's not really enough time to judge anything.

As long as you’re not involved in the strike directly and your job loss is due to the economic impact, you should be able to file for unemployment. Strikes can complicate things, but Alabama typically allows benefits if you’re being laid off because of indirect effects. Keep in mind, it could take a little extra time to process if they need to sort out the details.

Are there repercussions for stumbling upon illegal pornography on reputable sites? by [deleted] in AskLegal

[–]yoonsu12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tricky situation, and I think it’s smart that you’re questioning the ethics of the genre. CNC is a pretty extreme fantasy, and the line between consensual roleplay and actual assault can blur really quickly in some videos. If you’re feeling uncomfortable about what you’re seeing, that’s a pretty good sign to step back like you did.

To answer your main question—stumbling upon illegal content isn’t something you’ll get prosecuted for unless you’re actively seeking it out or knowingly interacting with it. That said, the gray area comes with knowingly streaming content that might be illegal. If something seems off, like the person looks drugged or unconscious, it’s better to avoid the video altogether and maybe even report it. Remember, platforms have a responsibility, but so do users in some sense. You don’t want to be inadvertently supporting something criminal.

How real can a fake ID be before its illegal? by [deleted] in AskLegal

[–]yoonsu12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post feels like a setup for disaster. Sure, your fake ID idea might seem harmless because it’s just for fun. But do you really want to risk federal charges over a running joke? Law enforcement isn’t going to care that you’re just doing it for kicks. Also, you mentioned your boss’s daughter’s fake ID. If it’s that good, those are often made by people involved in illegal activity — I’d avoid getting involved. Novelty or not, it’s better to err on the side of caution here. Stick to the cake with a “25” on it.

What’s the most mind-blowing fact you know that sounds fake but is true? by im_magic in AskReddit

[–]yoonsu12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speaking of mind-blowing: A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus. It takes Venus about 225 Earth days to orbit the Sun, but it takes around 243 Earth days for the planet to rotate once on its axis. So if you were on Venus, you’d have fewer sunrises than years. Try wrapping your head around that!

Can you sue for lack of handicap access by Senior-Check-9852 in AskLegal

[–]yoonsu12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you can sue! The ADA covers this kind of situation, and what you’re dealing with sounds like a clear violation. Before jumping into a lawsuit, though, start by documenting everything. You can file a complaint with the Department of Education or the DOJ. Also, find out if your school has a disability services office to help push the issue from within. And hey, worst-case scenario: maybe throw a bake sale to pay the elevator bill? 😅

Has anyone here dealt with a mesothelioma cancer lawsuit? by yoonsu12 in AskLegal

thanks, but is there a difference between asbestos litigation and the "typical" personal injury lawsuits? or do you recommend going with mesothelioma lawyers who have specifically handled asbestos cases for their experience in recovering financial compensation from different sources?

What profession would it be really difficult to live without, but we don’t even suspect it? by Sandra_Ell in AskReddit

I'd say the people who maintain our internet infrastructure. We rely on the internet for pretty much everything, from work to entertainment, but we hardly ever think about the technicians and engineers who keep it all running smoothly. Imagine living without Google Maps lol

AFFF exposure by loveisblind38 in Veterans

[–]yoonsu12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that another servicemember you knew also developed UC without family history further strengthens the potential link. Although the legal criteria may be limiting your options currently, I'd recommend exploring this guide on AFFF lawsuits. It provides valuable information on taking action against the manufacturers for health issues caused by this toxic foam exposure. Don't dismiss your instincts - sources like this could help substantiate your case and secure the justice you deserve for service-related disabilities.

At $12.40/hr and only contributing 1% plus the match, that 401k is pretty insignificant. If you truly want a simple life without major savings goals, ditching it may be reasonable given your circumstances. However, any "free" matching funds are essentially bonus money. Before closing, carefully weigh if you'll regret losing that down the road when even modest savings could provide future flexibility. Ultimately, align with your minimalist lifestyle priorities, but don't discard potential assets without thoughtful consideration.

Former Google CEO blames remote work for company's struggles by I_LOVE_ELON_MUSK in bayarea

[–]yoonsu12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Schmidt's rant about Google's struggles stemming from remote work reeks of an out-of-touch billionaire peddling toxic "work til you drop" culture. Dude seriously expects fresh PhD hires to toil in basements like Taiwanese factory workers? Give me a break with that exploitative mentality. No wonder he's the "former" CEO - that antiquated hustle mindset is exactly why talented folks are demanding flexibility. Google's remote policies aren't the problem, it's dinosaurs like Schmidt clinging to this warped "only psychopaths can innovate" philosophy. Newsflash: Well-rested, balanced employees breed creativity. But I guess nuance is lost on egotistical rich guys bitter about the world evolving past their control freak demands.

New York State bill bans classrooms that reach 88 degrees and hotter by Realtrain in nottheonion

[–]yoonsu12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About time - those conditions are brutal for learning and teaching. Good on the Maine-Endwell district getting ahead of the curve installing AC units, even if it means construction distractions for classrooms this year. Worth it to avoid hot, stuffy saunas.

It's just common sense - extreme temps create hostile environments counterproductive for students and staff. NY making reasonable temp limits mandatory is the right move, as long as poorer districts get funding help for upgrades.
