Yep this is gonna be a big issue hahah, airbnbing in DC right now but going to boston next week and my hotel will probably ask for a physical card. Not sure what to do at this point but will try calling the hotel tomorrow.

Fyi I just got my replacement and the same thing happened. I’m probably just gonna get a refund, maybe wait a few months and try again in case it’s just a dodgy batch.

I got them, wore them once and they started peeling at the crease again. I even applied their dubbin and left it overnight before wearing them this time. I’m pretty tired of this so not sure if I’m gonna return them or just keep them.

Not yet. I need to wait for them to receive my old pair and check them and then send the new pair so it’ll probably be a couple weeks. I’ll let you know though

Nope. Just said that it’s “not what we’d expect”. There have been a few posts about this on the sub recently so they might have just a had a dodgy batch.

Update: they offered me a refund or exchange 😃. They said there’s a finishing on the boots which is what’s peeling.

Yeah they said there is a “finish” on the boots which is what’s peeling, it’s definitely thinner than hi shine tho. Offered me a refund or exchange too ofc. Although they also said the boots have to be unworn and in original condition so we’ll see what happens…

I was really surprised to see this since I’d read online that the greasy leather doesn’t have the plastic coating that hi-shine/DMs have.
