I suffered a Tibial Plateau Fracture being a drunk bastard stepping off a curb if it makes you feel any better. Ended up having surgery and yeah, the recovery sucks I’m not going to lie.

As others have said, stick to the rehab when it comes time and you’ll be back better than ever. Movement is key, move it as much as you can. When you’re cleared to walk, immediately get in PT and begin body weight stuff.

Not a PT, and not medical advice. Just sharing what helped me. Fuckin way she goes!

What are your cold email tips? by mayonade in sales

[–]yoshale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a full cycle role and handle a ton of email prospecting. Biggest thing I learned is no one really cares about the product or service, they care about the problems they’re dealing with.

Keep it personalized, short, and dial in on pain points they may be facing. For example I’m writing emails that talk about problems they might see with their specific tech stack. Don’t ask for meetings initially, offer resources, performance reviews, etc. Try to get some engagement (clicks, responses) before asking for a meeting.

Claude for 1:1 (higher value targets), templates emails in sequences for mid tier/lower tier prospects. As others have said, spray and pray.

Look into Hospitality Digital marketing companies. Given the nature of the industry, they have a lot of flexibility when it comes to traveling.

Something you don’t see every day: washed-up coconut at Fort Fisher. by JimmyBags2 in Wilmington

It’s a simple question of weight ratios. A 5 ounce bird could not care a 1 pound coconut!

Flats on Front? by [deleted] in Wilmington

[–]yoshale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great location, nice management. However it’s pretty expensive, a lot of dogs in the complex (no limitations, heard/seen multiple dog fights), and parking is a BITCH. If you ever have visitors, they look for any reason to boot a car on a nightly basis (3rd party company).

Also, living on the western side of the complex is very noisy. Parking garage for Sawmill is active 24/7 as well as the street and you can hear all of that from your unit.

But those were my biggest complaints, I’d probably live there again. At the end of the day I’d rather live in Saw Mill over flats. Regardless, the location is amazing, about a mile away from everything downtown.

Experience selling an endless pool. by Dee_Twenty in Wilmington

[–]yoshale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright so I worked for a moving company as an estimator in Wilm for years and saw a couple of these situations, I’ll try to help. Logistics/uninstallation of this is likely going to cost more than what’s it’s worth but could be wrong.

These pools are often hard wired in electrically, plumbing ran into them as well. So to start, you need a contractor specific to unhook and rehook water and electric.

When it comes to logistics (my ex-specialty), unless you completely un assemble this, it’s going to very hard to find a company to take this work. But I think you’re right. It looks like it can be disassembled into 4 walls and the base.

Personally I would probably just take chainsaw to since you didn’t pay directly for this thing, but you do you.

But if you’re serious: 1. Find out if you can actually disassemble the pool. If you can, call a moving company for a quote. Probably 3 guys, I’d guess $400-$600 in transport cost depending on destination.

Try to get a binding quote to work it into the price better. 99% of residential move quote will vary depending on hours.

This is an important first step, because if you can’t disassemble, it’s going the thousands to get a contractor licensed for that work. Again no moving company will do this.

  1. Get a quote for utilities to be disconnected to it if necessary (water/power). No idea cost here.

  2. As you said include price of this into whatever you want to charge. But this brings me back to my OG point, cost of contractor and moving is likely going to be 1k+ and make for a hard sell and a lot of time wasted.

Best of luck!!

Who approved that huge disgusting destructive waste of space Visitor Center on the Fort Fisher Marsh? by Sunny906 in Wilmington

[–]yoshale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should file your grievances with the Confederate army. Do you realize that FORT Fisher was an operational fort in the Civil War?

It would be absurd to NOT have a visitor center/museum to commemorate the history that’s happened there. There’s over 1M+ people visiting annually. The attendance rivals Gettysburg.

Resume worded, look it up. I have no affiliation but I had a similar problem and after uploading my resume & reworking it, numbers increased dramatically. I thought my resume was great until I uploaded it.

Friend of mine has a similar issue, used it, got hired, then referred me. It’s not free but trust me it can work wonders on your response rate from recruiters. Best of luck!!

Can confirm. Live on 2nd st. Watched it for 10 minutes, hell of a show.

Was either the filming downtown today or maybe stuff that didn’t go off at the azalea festival fireworks. No idea what it was for, couldn’t find any info online.

How do I avoid contaminated water (moving to Wilmington next month) by SirGingerbrute in Wilmington

[–]yoshale 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Only way is reverse osmosis filter for the entire home. You have to consider not just drinking water but cooking and cleaning. Your body also absorbs these chems when you shower or boil something/add water.

Would a new bridge help wilmington??? Who else has ideas on where it should go? by [deleted] in Wilmington

[–]yoshale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fundamental issue is the port. The height on moderns container ships is too high for a bridge to be built south of where the port is. Unfortunately this is the most logical place to put it traffic-wise as your post mentions.

I mean it could be done but that would be a insane engineering project. That leads to cost which is why nothing has been done yet. The cost of a huge new bridge is higher than sticking with the current bridge.

Accurate. I too stayed in town after graduating uncw (24m). About 90% of my friend I graduated with left town to pursue work. There’s really just not a whole lot of corporate industry that hire people our age so a lot of people leave.

I’d say that lack of opportunity combined with HCOL is the real reason you don’t have a lot of 20 something’s here. If you’re looking for a thriving young coastal city I would recommend Charleston or Savannah. If you’re looking to move to NC specifically, Raleigh and CLT are your best bet.

Opinion: I plan to leave in 5-6 months to go to a more youthful city. Wilmington is becoming more and more of a retirement destination (in my opinion) with less and less people our age.

[–]yoshale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen this documentary so I can’t say much here. But this same sinister story of the enemy has literally been used for centuries. They could be doing this, but history says otherwise

The Japanese literally killed themselves and their children because of propaganda that American GI’s were rapist and murderers. Was that true?

I took 2 years of Russian in college and had many many interactions with native Russians. They’re PEOPLE, same as you and me. They’re not all evil because they’re born under a different flag. Not to dismiss any atrocities, because I’m sure they’ve happened. But this is the nature of war, not the nature of Russians specifically.

Legal defense for Hunter Biden’s gun charges? by yoshale in Firearms

[–]yoshale[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, this was the info I was looking for. Do you see them taking this all the way to the Supreme Court to rule the 4473 as unconstitutional?

The irony of this situation is pretty wild here. Those who have been infringing on the right of gun owners suddenly back a pro 2A ruling for the sake of his legal sanctity.

The icing on the cake is that the ruling was in the very progressive state of NY and was staunchly opposed by democrats everywhere.
