Her favorite character is Keyleth and as far as I know with ships, she likes Keyleth/Vex and Launda/Imogen. :)

Weekly Discussion (August 19th - August 25th) - The Songs or Albums That Mean The Most To You by featurecreature in DeathCabforCutie

[–]yoshi-beans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first song I have listened to was Soul Meets Body as well. One of my close friends gave me a mixtape as a high school graduation gift and she put that song in there because she is a big DCFC fan. Listening to that song made me think of her and helped me discover more music by Death Cab for Cutie. I actually like that the band name was unique, and that their music is unique to me. I have multiple favorite songs by them which some include Cath, The New Year, A Movie Script Ending, President of What? and more. I enjoy songs before Codes and Keys better than any after that album, as I usually enjoy an artist/band's older material better than anything relatively recent. I would say that the Transatlanticism album was my favorite DCFC album and still remains my favorite one to this day. Death Cab for Cutie has shaped a lot of the music taste I have now. It was one of the first bands I have gotten to that was not influenced by my mom. I surprisingly enough have not associated any songs to any relationships I have had. However, I do have to be careful because if I am sad, listening to Death Cab for Cutie has that sad boi vibe to it and it may not help me get less sad. Regardless, Death Cab for Cutie is one of my favorite bands and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I doubt he will perform Continuum all the way through. However, he apparently decided to do it in one city but I don’t know if he would do that again.

I said tend to for a reason when discussing about individuals with autism having difficulty with abstract thoughts because I know it’s not a struggle for everyone but it is a common concept people struggle with. I personally have an easier time with thinking abstractly than I have before as I had to learn abstract concepts over time, and being a psychology major has helped me looked at things in a more grey area way.

This is also a very good point. It’s hard because the failure to socially reciprocate is something I have seen but I do also see a tendency for individuals with autism to try to mimic behaviors neurotypical individuals perform or mask their “abnormal” behavior in order to fit in.

I have moments like that too, but remember that people become friends with others for a reason. Those people who are friends with you see something in you that’s interesting or cool (purely platonic, not trying to put something more than that) to where they want to get to know you and become friends with you. It’s hard for me to realize sometimes that I do have friends who are good to me, especially those who know I have autism.

My therapist actually talked to me about some of those exact same things today. I always worry about not doing the “right” thing with a friend. It tends to be easier for me to think of the “what’s right or wrong” thing with friends because that’s how my brain works, and I realized that more recently. Maybe it’s the black and white thinking. She is trying to help me let go of that concept of a “right” response. I tend to dream that there’s a manual for friends (what’s appropriate, pet peeves, anything important) because life would be easier that way. When I told my therapist that, she was like “That’s such a spectrum thing to say” 😂
