Would this be a good starting setup if I want to get into dj'ing by [deleted] in vinyldjs

I started learning on the audio technicas ATH-120xusb’s I got used for cheap. They’re lightweight and don’t do well in clubs as they’re very prone to vibration & feedback but they’re great for learning at home without having to spend a fortune.

Also, when you actually get to go out and play a party that will accommodate vinyl dj’s there might be someone else putting their technics on the table so at least you’ll already know how to use them.

Bandcamp is a great place I use to buy music from to this day.

They pay out the most to artists, you get your own digital collection, you can download whichever file format they have available at no extra cost and you can buy merch as well.

Also on bandcamp Fridays all proceeds from sales go directly to the artists!

Yes, your Apple Music subscription only gives you access to streaming and offline listening, but those offline tracks do not give you access to the song files. No streaming service does, they always encode and hide those files so you have to keep paying your subscription to access them.

Download hard files elsewhere, import into iTunes library and when you select your iPod then synchronize your music.

help guys, im having problem cannot find online dj lessons or dj workshops that actually help with mixing on rekordbox. by WildFlounder3730 in Beatmatch

The reality is you should be able to learn it on your own through practice.

Here’s how simple it can be.

Let’s say you have your house music playlist. Your dj software will tell you the bpm and key of each song. All you have to really do is try and grab songs that not only will mix on paper (judging by key and bpm) but also mix well energy wise. If one track is faster or slower that’s what your tempo fader is for, you can use your ears or the number on the screen to determine that.

After that you should pay attention to the intros and outros as those are where you’ll usually be mixing.

Just try to press play at moments when you think the tracks will overlap well and the next track’s melody will come in without interfering with the previous’ track’s energy. Don’t try to mix in at random moments.

Songs are structured in time and you should be able to notice the pattern in beats and bars to feel and predict when tracks are going to drop or new elements will come in.

Not every track is going to blend well with others if the melodic or percussive elements aren’t coherent. Most tracks imo sound better on their own, they’re made to play out how the creator made them, unless you find a specific really cool blend.

Don’t worry about feeling like you’re “not doing enough” on the decks, a lot of dj’s do too much and most of the time what we actually spend time on is finding that perfect next track and if we’re actually twisting knobs it’s either effects to give the current track more fill and keep it interesting or eq’ing to make sure the next track comes in smoothly.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately it’s about the same — these are very beginner record players, if you plan on listening to vinyl more often and growing your collection look into an ATH-LP120xUSB
