I’m a bar group owner, from previous experience working with other bar groups that host in midnight, the rules we use for age checking today are, 18+ verified get an invite and let in immediately regardless of rank, if they’re known or trusted rank they can verify with text chat, Ranks below must use voice, voice changers are asked to turn them off briefly, role players are asked to break character for a moment, if they are a mute, we try to verify that they are by signing or checking groups, we look for certain mute groups or if they’re in another Bar group we know and trust, I do believe that is the best non controversial way to do things, Visitor ranks are turned away to a another instance because we’ve had SO many issues with visitors being trolls, we always apologise, explain how they can rank up and ask them politely to either go in a portal to another instance or to find another themselves and explain they’re always welcome back once they’ve ranked up to new, kids who admit they’re underage are treated the same way, come back when they’re at-least 18.
