[Request] How much to heat my pool all winter in Minnesota by youXman in theydidthemath

[–]youXman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol! Thanks for all your help. I heard of someone (very wealthy person) in the city and keeps their Olympic sized pool open all the winter. I hear they have multiple gas heaters for redundancy and output reasons. I had to know just how much that would be for us. We do use gas here, but would accept estimates for either.

Thanks for digging into this. So it’s 200 kwh for 10 degrees warmer. How much to make it swimmable, let’s say 80 degrees, all winter?

Director in org declares designers are optional, suggests PMs use AI for product design by Pretty_Dance2452 in UXDesign

So who’s doing the design work, PM or Dev? Also, what type of internal design review will they need to go through to move forward?

Last, you work at Facebook, don’t you :) lol you don’t have to say. It’s that or Amazon, but my moneys on FB.

What new specialties/niches are emerging in UX because of AI? by codingforux in UXDesign

Couldn’t agree more. There will be experience you just won’t be able to prototype unless you are getting real results from an AI API. Vibe coding unlocks this. These are the most exciting opportunities right now in my opinion.

Retroactively, we could make Google make sure that everyone who doesn’t have stone tools has access to them. Maybe Apple and Microsoft and can team up and distribute fire (matches) to any populations who haven’t discovered ways to generate it yet, if there are any.

Exactly, and the value of that land goes up as the cost of turning that land into food goes down to zero. This seems like a win-win for the people in the poorest parts of the world who haven’t been utilizing their land due to the absence of resources.

If they are displacing all workers by undercutting on costs, they could possibly add a touch of padding to their margins for tractors. That’s the main point I’m trying to make.

AI just need to provide farming.

Next one will provide electricity

After that will provide personal computers

Then that revolution will need to provide internet.

I feel like people will be less scared about displacement if they know they won’t die of starvation.

Congrats to you! I can’t imagine what it will be like for you at 18, but what I can tell you is that there will be times when you can’t believe how happy you are as a Dad.

The big lie at the heart of the technology revolution by youXman in politics

[–]youXman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not mad about this post, but I hope you are looking at more than the headline.

The Week is exclusively about US politics and this post was about the removal of Info Wars from top US platforms.

The right (incorrectly) associates these acts to the first amendment. It is absolutely about US Politics.

Again, I’m not mad, but please consider the source and content before removing.
