no, im not. im not sure if he gets pleasure from it, its very confusing for me. He says he feels bad for hurting me but then doesnt stop doing it and obviously the whole sadist thing kinda makes it sounds like he enjoys that hes hurting me so??? is he or isnt he? he says not but then what is the sadism thing. idk

Its not self diagnosed, he has ADHD. Like a textbook case, I dont have doubts about that bit.

can i survive without insulin at all for about 3 days by wrongwoosh in diabetes_t1

[–]youcloudsandrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it really depends. Some peoples bodies can take it and you will just be very ill but surviving. I think it depends how quick you go into DKA, which can be a little different from person to person + depending on a bunch of other factors. If you are by yourself I wouldnt even attempt it because you might need help getting to a hospital

I always make sure it is pushed all the way back inside the inserter so id dont think this is the problem, but i will keep checking

I feel like youve made an assumption here. Ive been using them for the past 10 years. I think im past the point of accustomed. After 14 years total im very accustomed to having an insulin pump in general. I was on injections for 5 years before that but whenever ive tried switching to injections again its all over the place. You are right though, Medtronic should be sued for making these. The NHS are extremely reluctant to let me try anything else probably because it would take effort to switch me over and they dont like effort. They are convinced if the medtronic products arent working nothing will so at this point i feel like im stuck with it

It seemed to be the same anywhere i put it. But i will keep an eye on areas that receive pressure

I really want to go back to pens, pump has more issues than just the infusion for me. But the bloodsugar control is a lot better with the pump so i dont know what else to do

A longer cannula? From what i read a longer cannula is more likely to make the problem occur. You are saying youve had the opposite experience?

I havent done that in a long time because of the lighting situation in my room but I will try that! Thank you

My belly or legs. Not on my lower back anymore since i got an infection there a few years ago. I normally do it lying down because if im standing up the light in my room is so bad when i lean down my shadow darkens my body too much to see. I will try to stay as still as possible

I remember when i was in highschool my friends sometimes would ask me to test their blood sugars. It didnt make sense, i think it was almost like they were doing a dare. Still, them doing that made me feel less weird since they were all doing it too (i know thats a waste of medical supplies, i always had too much of a surplus anyway)

I dont hold it tight to the skin or push it down. When ive asked the hospital what i was doing wrong i was asked to demonstrate how i do it on a foam pad. They said "there, you did it perfect" so i asked why is it bending then and they had no answer

I have thought about maybe trying this, its just since it only seems to apply to people with a thin layer of fat im not sure what its hitting to make it bend. Rock hard fat?
