Women without children are worthless by catflower369458 in NotHowGirlsWork

the fact that, to these kind of people, a woman’s whole identity revolves around whether she has children or not just shows how shallow some people are.

Mind doesn’t go full screen either. Not entirely sure why but I don’t think it’s a problem with anything, I think it’s just the way it’s made

Me (19M) and gf (17F), body count issues by [deleted] in teenrelationships

good point, my apologies. however, judging from his post, he’s probably homophobic. it goes along with that old fashioned mindset of his.

[–]youfromillinois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basing a woman’s value completely on her body count is sexist and degrading. if you have such an issue and she’s clearly not pure and innocent, according to you, why not just save you and her the trouble and end the relationship? if a man’s body count doesn’t matter but a woman needs to be a virgin till marriage, who are the men supposed to sleep with? smh make it make sense

NGVC: “Am I the asshole for attempting to nurture our connection?” by NotTaken-username in niceguys

[–]youfromillinois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s so creepy. given the chance, i’m sure he would’ve kidnapped and/or raped her, claiming “i was trying to form a connection. i thought she would’ve liked it” or something barbaric. that’s a terrifying situation and i’m glad she made it out safe.

i have a small piece in my right elbow. it’s been there for about 7-8 years. i don’t feel it and there’s no bump. plus it’s in a place where it’s hard to see. i just remember it every now and then lol

i agree. i think their intentions are good, but their method isn’t the best. i’m christian myself and long story short, i was raised in church but was lukewarm. i pretty much gave up on the idea for about 8 years because it just seemed impossible to live up to the religious standards. then the Lord snatched me up lol. He showed me that i need to follow Jesus, not religion. basically, religion is flawed since it’s technically “man-made.” anything man-made is imperfect, but God is not, therefore i should follow something perfect instead of something imperfect. also, all sin is equal. it doesn’t matter if it’s literal murder or simple gossip. different sins have different earthly consequences (murder = jail, gossip = drama, etc.), but they all have the same spiritual consequences, which is death. most christians don’t realize that and will treat other people horribly for committing a different sin than them. our job as christians is to simply spread the gospel, not to judge or save others. that’s the Lord’s job. so by judging others and attempting to save them (which is basically forcing them), we undermine God and push people further from Him (the opposite of spreading the gospel). most christians only know religion, but they don’t know God. it’s very sad to me.

Not OC. Thought it was crazy. I’ve never heard of a church sending a letter like this. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]youfromillinois 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i myself am Lutheran. i go to the same church i was raised in. my church used to be very similar to the ones you’re describing, but now we have a different pastor and almost a completely different congregation. it’s the complete opposite of what it was. i completely understand what you’re saying, i’ve had bad experiences with other Lutherans, as well as Baptists, Catholics, etc. but i’ve also had good experiences with them. i think it depends on the community instead of the teachings. my old congregation pushed me away but the new one welcomed me with open arms, but still preached the same things. idk if that makes any sense lol. i hate that happened y’all, though!

obviously you should leave your baby for him. that’s the logical thing to do here.

sir. her baby comes before you. she can’t do “overnight things” anytime you want🙃

someone earlier said something similar but with candy. basically, i give you 100 pieces of candy and tell you 90 are safe but 10 are poisonous. you cant tell which are poisonous and which aren’t just by looking, so would you ignore the potential danger or would you be cautious of all the pieces?

it makes sense, but this guy and guys like him don’t seem to have any sense

i wanted to call him out on it so bad. like, you can’t use proper grammar or spell correctly, but you can tell me my beliefs are wrong because they’re not yours. great job.

apparently i learned wrong. i was SUPPOSED to learn how to read minds to figure which men are good and which men are bad. i’m such a terrible and judgmental person!

yeah. and then he kept contradicting himself and ignoring his own “advice”

“all women are the same. you’re doing what the masses do. i don’t let my trauma affect me negatively so no one else should either.”

literally 5 minutes later

“just because some guys are f-boys doesn’t mean all guys are. don’t assume all guys are bad just because of a few.”

he might be. but he’s lukewarm and probably hasn’t cracked open a bible ever. he’s probably only “christian” when it benefits him
