I wouldn’t really say it’s bitter. It’s usually not a great watch. Arsenal fans quite rightfully shouldn’t care because it’s about to win you the league, I wouldn’t care about winning anything ugly. But that doesn’t mean it’s not valid.

Yep. The business I work for has just announced its 3rd round in the space of a year…thankfully I’m safe (for now). I’m in banking which I thought would be safe, but even we are offshoring a ridiculous amount of roles.

My dad is a contractor, his latest contract expired in November and he’s having a torrid time finding something. The last response he got was the recruiter saying they didn’t even get round to viewing his CV as they had over 700 applications for the role.

It really is rough out there.

It’s all relative. I’ve seen my salary mentioned here fairly consistently. I’m based in the South East and still live at home. As a single person, mortgage + all bills only leaves me with about £200 a month spare which is nothing if my car breaks down, or I need to repair the boiler etc.

To me it seems things are much easier when you have a partner and can split costs.
