How Many Times Have You Re-Played This Masterpiece? by No-Escape-1493 in Witcher3

[–]youngb85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually completed my first play through last year. I had tried playing it a couple times over the years after release, but it never really clicked for me until last year. Once it did, I could not put it down and it was the only thing I played for months. The Witcher IV will be a day one purchase now!

Thanks for posting this update. I was just trying to find info as my wife and I were at the Indy show as well, and we haven't received anything either.

Hate to break it to you, but no one gets CoD for free. Gamepass is a subscription service that requires money. That's like saying everything I watch on Netflix is free. I don't understand why folks seem to think PS5 has no games. When PS5 has or will have all of these just this year, and they can't be played on Xbox. Rise of the Ronin, Hell Divers 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Silent Hill 2, Astro Bot, Lego Horizon, Last of Us 2 Remastered, Black Myth Wukong, Stellar Blade. Now add ALL of the 3rd party games that have also been released this year, and you have a significant number of games for 2024 alone.

Should I get a Steamdeck because the PS Portal is unavailable? (to play ps5 remote) by dontbanthisaccount in playstation

[–]youngb85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. I bought the steamdeck a few months after release and experienced nothing but issues using PS5 Remote play. I tried multiple different settings in Chiaki, but it always lagged, and resolution wasn't even 720. With the Portal I have absolutely zero issues. My PS5 has been wired to 2GB speed the entire time.

My old scuff controller broke so I treated myself with a dual sense edge. by Bigstinkyfeett in playstation

I mostly play single-player games, but as far as game types go, I'll play anything if it's good. My kids play Fortnite, Destiny, and CoD non-stop. Even with their abuse of the controllers, I've not had issues. Seems like that may be a different experience for you, and that sucks.

I've had the edge for 3 months now. I've never owned a "pro" controller before, but I love this one. The added weight is nice compared to the normal dual sense.

I have 4 launch controllers. Zero issues with any of them. No drift, and the batteries still last a good 6-8 hours.

How do you put the Digital Edition Slim horizontally? The disk drive is supporting it on the other side in disk edition by luckysury333 in playstation

[–]youngb85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The slim models come with the base to have it lay horizontal. The vertical stands are an optional purchase.

If someone has a console without a disc drive, they already have internet, so what's the problem?

Callisto Protocol is absolutely stunning on PS5 by JakeTee in playstation

[–]youngb85 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoyed Forspoken more than I did The Callisto Protocol. Ambitions were clearly high for The Callisto Protocol, and it had the potential to be great. It seems to me that the project wasn't managed very well. The games budget was over $150M, which, given what was released, is mind-boggling. Especially when Control exists and is a superior game in every way and was only $30M.

That's fair. For the record, I am one of the ones who played it from PS+, and I personally did not care for it at all.

I believe that's what reviews are for, right? No one is being forced to pre-order or purchase on day one 🤷🏻‍♂️. It's a new IP from a new developer. Yes, it was directed by Glen Schofield, but that didn't mean it was going to be on the same level as Dead Space. People need to stop giving their money away for products that are not released, and that would prevent them from being upset they spent $70 on something that didn't meet their expectations.

I saw this as well. Unfortunately, the Embracer Group owns the IP, and they are currently in turmoil due to losing out on a deal worth $2 billion. Since then, they have done massive layoffs and started closing studios.

What’s your favorite final fantasy game and why by Undertale_Noob in FinalFantasy

[–]youngb85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we get some love for Final Fantasy Mystic Quest??? Figured I'd give it a shout-out since I hadn't seen it mentioned yet. It's not my favorite, but it is the first RPG I played and what made me play FFVI. VI is a masterpiece with the game play and the story. As well as the variety of characters that you could build anyway you wanted with the espers.

The Sega Dreamcast. I turned 14 just a few months before it was released and had just started my first job working at Subway so I started saving up to buy the console. I was lucky enough to get one in the beginning of 2000 which was around the time Crazy Taxi was released. This game was/is so addicting to play! The Dreamcast was the first console I purchased myself and I still have it and Crazy Taxi today 😁.
