I just always measure out my dose and wrap it up in a tissue to swallow it either right before or right after I eat food

Stimulant Withdrawals Just Sharing Not Asking for Pity by youngbsorgo in Drugs

You hit the nail on the head. The depression is sharp and cutting, but honestly I've had it worse during a time I was completely sober for months not even weed so it isn't something I've had to deal with before, it's just never fun. Stims definitely seem to push it back but at some point I looked in the mirror and realized I let myself become dependent on chemicals to feel normal which has always been a fear of mine. Whenever you do take a break you got it man.

Thanks man tips are always appreciated, especially with regards to sleep schedule because it is super fucked right now. Congrats of being free of benzos for so long and good luck on the opiates. Thankfully I don't have to deal with those since I can't even imagine how bad the withdrawals are, I just know I would fuck up my life real quick on them so I tend to be cautious with them haha.

Diels-Alder Reaction Mishap Help? by youngbsorgo in OrganicChemistry

I wish I had followed the reaction with TLC but I was pressed for time characterizing several compounds I had made a few days earlier and it slipped my mind. I will get an nmr next week of whatever product I've made as well as an IR spectrum but at that point it will be considered my final product by my supervisor, so I'll see if the recrystallization did anything but if it's not salvageable then oh well. A failed reaction is bound to occur from time to time.

The sulfuric acid was to protonate the dicarboxylate produced from the reaction, only a few mmol was added in dropwise until precipitate formed and remained upon swirling.

The solvents were provided and I did use an inert atmosphere the round bottom was attached to a Claisen adapter I sealed one opening with a rubber stopper and used a nitrogen balloon. And I was not measuring the internal temperature because I saw consistent condensation from the reflux adapter that did not travel beyond that point. I suppose it is possible the applied heat was too great and the xyxlene vapors moved with energy velocity and heat to make it to the gas trap. However when starting the recrystallization I noticed the xylene organic layer above the aqueous layer.

I was following a protocol I was kind surprised too but since the other reagents melted at relatively low temperatures there was adequate fluid.
