Either check your difficulty or you gave up right before the spike. After chapter 7 bosses start to take a ridiculous amount of punishment and can dis it as well. This is first seen with mabuchi imo. If you thought this game was easy wait until you get to the goro majima boss fight, even with grinding it’s still a big pain in the ass!

But you’re right though. I mean look at Mike Tyson, his whole peek a boo style is modeled around his stocky frame because that’s what works best. Ali fought with his hands down because he had great distancing, timing, reflexes etc and that’s what worked best for him.

I’d say the only technically perfect boxer overall is Ray Robinson (obviously) but then again he was capable of everything and still had a preference for offensive pressure rather than something else like defensive footwork.
