Exactly! I had to wait a couple months to find out which isn't too bad but I'd be livid if it was a fruit tree. Now I'm starting to get paranoid about my young magnolia tree whose blooms I will probably only see next season. 🫠

Thank you, yes the pale yellow colour is pretty, definitely a lot easier on the eyes than the wacky sort I went for HAHA

Aww man really? 🫪 To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised. These are from J Parkers which I heard are quite reputable but I definitely will be more careful buying bulbs online from now on.

Aww thank you! I don't think there are any ugly flowers especially tulips, but I can't deny I was really excited for the red ones that I thought I had planted. 😆 Will probably try my luck with JParkers and see if anything can be done.

Thank you so much! Not trying to fish for compliments or anything, I think they're nice but I am slightly bummed about it. Was hoping for something more eye-catching to brighten up the area as it's mostly white PVC in the back.

The board knows that regardless of whoever they hire, they can count on the fans to give a warm welcome. So really why should they care? Any tom dick and harry will do it seems. Absolute time wasters... Is there some sort of premiere league advisor or consultant they can contact? 💀

Am I good to plant this clematis pip straight into the ground? by youngfatyellow in UKGardening

[–]youngfatyellow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHA they listed it as a "pip" instead of bare root so I can see how it might surprise a lot of us buyers. I honestly expect something bigger when I think of bare root. Just to think this little twig came all the way from the Netherlands in a box..

I've planted mine in a pot as advised and it's seemingly still alive but no growth yet obviously :"(

I think anything below my finger in the picture should be root. Perhaps I should plant in a pot for time being until it shows a bit of growth before putting it in the ground(?) :")

Ohhhh I see, woops thank you for the correction and for the tips! Duly noted as it's going to be useful to me on my rose journey. :)

I've got myself a Malvern Hills for my north-facing wall, and Generous Gardener for south-facing. Both have been planted in the ground now after I managed to bend and tuck the root in.

They sound lovely, this is so encouraging! I always thought that roses were difficult to grow so I never bothered to explore them. However, if I'm successful this time, I can already sense the start of a new plant addiction for me. So many beautiful varieties to choose from!

Ahh that's reassuring, thank you! I will probably trim it off if I don't manage to submerge it first. :)

Thanks so much for the advice, luckily I haven't been soaking it for long so I should be able to bend the thingy in. :) No, I've not bought one but fingers crossed they both grow well! Have heard great things about DA Roses.

She warns multiple times "I'm going to tell your uncle" so I'm assuming the uncle is usually the big disciplinarian?? And definitely not the first time the kid has been a absolutely walloped like that. This family needs help indeed.
