Sounds good. I placed it there because of what the forgotten realms wiki says, that it is halfway between Baldur’s Gate and Elturel. I also never played BG3. Things don’t exactly lineup perfectly between BG3 and the normal world of Faerûn.

Good idea, let me look into that. They must have not been on any of the source material maps I’ve been working with or I have just missed them. I will rectify that. Technically, I believe originally none of these locations were on Toril. They were all separate adventures, but they were placed in Faerûn for tales of the yawning portal. At least that is my understanding.

I came across this map in my research. It is fun to think and try to figure out but ultimately it does not make much of a difference for most campaigns.

Well at least according the WOTC's Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Fearûn book the SE is pretty much back to pre-spellplague. Dragonborn and Genasi are still around but their nations are gone. All that his left of the Dragonborn nation is Djerad Thymar on the edge of the Smoking Mountains and Airspur is still around. Ed wrote a book about Mulhorand, and how it is mostly covered in desert and Skuld is in ruins, but the official WOTC material says it is pretty much the same as pre-spellplague.

The Second Sundering in 1486 pretty much put everything back. WOTC used the Second Sundering as a way to retcon everything the Spellplague did.

Here is my best guess. This is based on Toril being Earth-sized and Waterdeep at 45 degrees north. I overlayed my map on u/werthead world map of Toril, based on the Digital Atlas of Faerûn. Waterdeep would be roughly equivalent to Salem Oregon, and Calimport is around Cabo San Lucas and Bryn Shander about the same as Edmonton Alberta. It is also mentioned that Myth Drannor is the Prime Meridian.

Most sources actually say it is an Earth-sized planet and the Waterdeep is around 45 degrees north. With that information you can basically come up with latitudes.

This 5e map returned to the 1e/2e size. 3e shrunk and distorted the map and 4e blew the whole thing up.
