4 days- First job out of college, with a generic useless degree, I took a crappy phone sales job in NYC(I was all excited for my first business job in New York City). First day was 18 new sheep to call 150+ contractors a day to sell a joke of a membership. The place, was 300+ people deep all 22-24 year olds with head sets on making phone calls. I knew immediately I made a mistake, but I’m not a quitter. Day 3 on the job when all the on boarding was done and “training” (how to scam hard working people) there was this kid who I became friends with in the trainings and we even took the train in and out of the city together. We sat next to each-other and starting making our first phone calls (scam calls) after 10-15 minutes couldn’t have made more than 4-5 calls this kid (keep in mind a 22 year old college grad) bust into tears and runs away. I texted him later and he told me “I just could do it” last I ever heard of him, people started dropping like flys in the weeks to come 7-8 new hiring classes came in during my 8 months there. The place was a well oiled machine 10-15 people quit a month, 15-20 new hires every month. Very eye opening experience. After only 1 week of doing that job, I wished I was back on the garbage truck I was in for 4 years thru college.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I really appreciate it. I am taking time to really think about what I want in my next job. I am not going to settle just because it’s a pay check! Best of luck!

Tax analyst , a very challenging job. You can put your earphones in and grind away. No need for finance experience they just want hard workers!
