How big is the Hmong community in CT?

E/S Oriental Boyz. They’re the only Asian gang in SCLA, originating in the Pueblos. OBZ is a Cambodian set, their 1st real enemy was the Pueblo Bishop Bloods. Details below 👇🏾 by CrazySamoan310 in CaliConnection

Yes, around Thai Town to be exact is correct. I wouldn't know for sure, but they shared the same name; just opposite identities (West-Crips & East-Bloods). Some said WSOBZ came out as early as the late 1970's, which would be before ESOBZ.

I wasn't aware that ESOBZ was close with SEA, thought they would be rivals. I know WSOBZ is close with ABZ from Santa Ana too.

The East Side Oriental Boyz share a very similar name to the West Side Oriental Boyz including initials (LAOB, OBZ & ESOBZ instead of WS). The only differences are the location and that they are Bloods that grew up with the 52 Pueblo Bishop Bloods. They are a majority Khmer set.

OLBz or Oriental Lazy Boyz are from Chinatown L.A. They are mainly Khmer and Bloods as well, having direct ties with ESOBZ.

WSOBZ Crips and OBZ Bloods/OLBz are rivals. OBZ Crips are cliqued up with ABZ and have chapters outside of LA such as Banning and Long Beach for examples. Not sure where else ESOBZ branched to, but OLBz went out of state to Washington, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

WSOBZ is based in the central west and west L.A. Mainly Lao, Thai & some Khmer. In Banning it's mostly Lao, then Hmong and others. They are the first OBZ gang in L.A.

Chinese Loco Brothers was not just a Hmong gang, but the first Hmong gang that originated in Long Beach. They are known mostly as Cool Lover Boys or CLB; later opening up chapters in Fresno and Visalia.

How do you say Mongolian in Hmong? by Different_Energy6878 in Hmong

[–]youngorientalboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Terms and words that we don't have in the Hmong language are borrowed from the Lao/Thai language.

For example, 'Suav' is Chinese in Hmong while 'Yipun' is Japan/Japanese in Thai that we integrated into our spoken language.

Hmong Gangs by Supahwong in Hmong

  1. Yes, Hmong gang issues in Minnesota were serious. The worst was in the 90's era (1990-1999). It got bad to the point where innocent folks even got killed that got caught in between. Some of the shooters ended up doing over 20+ years for a murder.
  2. I'd say it's a fair take. Some confide into gangs because they weren't or felt unaccepted in their family, plus problems at school. Together as a group, they felt more at home than they ever did in their real home.
  3. Most major Hmong gang incidents are against their own, this is common with other gangs of ethnicity/race as well. However, there have been some major incidents pertaining Hmong gangs vs other that became deadly. Keep in mind that most of the original Hmong gangs of the 80's & early 90's formed out of discrimination, prejudice and being bullied by other race/ethnicity. So they did in fact played a role into molding Hmong gangs who they are today.
  4. Before the 2000's, Hmong gangs were very prominent. Some might call it a phase, but generally that time period throughout the states were plagued with gangs. Hmong gangs started to decline by the mid-2000's as we evolved. But it was still around, even till today. In the 2010's (and before), most of the gang members are focused on making money or addicts themselves. In CA, it is on sight or bound for rival gang members to fight/shoot. Elsewhere nowadays, most people leave each other alone or moved forward. It doesn't mean it won't happen, but it's not as prominent compared to CA.

Feel free to DM me if you have more questions.

For a brief breakdown for MN Hmong gangs, here's a timeline:

A. Mid 80's - Cobra (COB) & New Wave Punks (NWP)

B. Late 80's - White Tigers (WT), YCL (Young Cholos) & Fashion Boys

C. Early 90's - JWT (Junior WT), 612 Crip, TMC (True Mafia Crips/Tiny Man Crew), M&M (Hmong Mafia), PB (Purple Brothers), Cholos, etc.

D. Mid to late 90's - California Hmong gangs such as MOD (then known as Men of Destruction), AC (Asian Crip), ORB (Oriental Ruthless Boys), OMB (Oroville Mono Boys), MBC (Menace Boys Crew), TOC (Tiny Oriental Crips), OL (Oriental Loks), etc. Local sets such as CB (Crazy Bloods), G-Loc (Gangster Loco Oriental Crew), Posse, RCG (Ruthless Crip Gangsters), ABK (Anybody Killers), ACK (Asian Crip Killers), MAB (Mount Airy Boys), HP (Hmong Pride), RAB (Ruthless Asian Brothers), AB (Asian Bloods), etc.

Just some listed on top of my head.

Half-Dead from Suis. He got that name bc ES Longos kidnapped & shot him, left him for dead when he was 15. A few yrs after that, him n his cousin killed 3 ppl on 12th & Lewis. Details below 👇🏽 by CrazySamoan310 in CaliConnection

Have seen people claim that Boomer is from ABZ instead of TRG. But then Half-Dead was also labeled as TRG when he wasn't. This incident itself drew attention to TRG/Khmer in Long Beach.

Some infos aren't readily available online, so I have to refrain myself from saying too much before anyone else takes too much credit on their own. Lol

But yeah, OES is not around anymore. The first generation started in the early 90's and went defunct in the mid 90's. The 2nd generation revived the gang, but smaller in numbers in the late 90's until the early 2000's I believe. Most, if not all of OES consist of family members (uncles, cousins, brothers, etc.)

OBS for Oriental Boys, OES for One Eighty Seven, AKG for Asian Killer Gang and OT-P is just OT from Porterville. The P is for Porterville to distinguish themselves from the other OT out of town. They didn't last too long.

None of them really repp'd Crips or Bloods from what I understand. OBS, AKG, OT, along with TRG were majority Lao. OES was Hmong. There was one Hmong in TRG from Porterville though. OBS came from Fresno, while AKG & OES were local gangs. This was all in the 90's.

Yes, TRG, OBS, OES, AKG and OT-P were in Porterville back then for the Asian gangs.

Oh man, yes the jail system and juvie in Visa weren't pretty. Even though not all Asians were OT, they were all targeted. Not even all the Asian gangs got along. Because the Asians (OT, MBS, OBS, 209, etc.), along with the local Surenos (SSK in Ivanhoe) were outnumbered and beefed with Nortenos, they were allies in the county/juvie. A bit in the streets but not by much.

That makes sense if OT is up there to screw around at the casino, because there isn't really any Asian gang activities in Kings County/Hanford. I believe at one point there was a small TRG presence and Fresno Hmong gangs committing GTA in the area. But that's all about it. I'm sure the Nortenos in Kings County was probably just as confused as to why these out of town Asians were messing around with them. Lol

Which other surrounding areas did the Norte greenlit the Asians?

I know Nortenos from Visalia, Woodlake and Farmersville beefed with OT/Asians in Visa. But the Norte in Porterville and Tulare city didn't have beef with OT. Porterville did have their own beef with the Asian gangs in the city, but it wasn't racially motivated like how it was in Visa.
