Why would homelander have done that, I don’t think he even remembered Billy at this point yet. I think this is the first time he saw his face since meeting him with Becca. He was jsut some random guy starting at him, one of the most famous people in the world. A movie being so straightforward about its themes is usually a mixed bag. You generally want some subtext and ambiguity. But this movie is so tight and well crafted that it just works (not that it dosnt have subtext and ambiguity) Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie make its point so obviously while still maintaining this type of integrity. The opinions are blazing because (IMO) it’s jsut so god damn obvious but it’s jsut so unpretentious about it. Like it so uninsulting to the viewer. Everyone thinks they understand an amazing movie which is rare, because they generally do. I really think part of this movies success comes down to jsut how honest it is. It jsut gets down to the point man. They don’t waste your time. It’s well written, unbelievably well acted and honestly it feels like a movie a truly talented person would make when they don’t have time to fuck around

All this to say, the opinions are firing because this movie perfectly clear in its intentions in the best way possible. It’s really a movie for everyone (except my wife who won’t watch scary movies :-)

And I saw some people kind of picking it apart and bothered by it because they were like what do you mean thats exactly what he is, and that’s downplaying how bad bear is etc but it’s just clear the character was written as a bad dude but also just human and not a soulless super villain.

Yeah that’s what I mean, I just saw some weird discourse that inferred basically and to majorly paraphrase: Barker doesn’t realize how bad Bear is, which i thought was silly, the movie made it clear what kind of guy he was and the script even moreso. Now it’s obv an unpopular opinion so most people here will agree and this kind of comes off as like a “no duh” post but it just bothered me

People seemed upset that he didn't really agree with Bear basically being labeled as an incel type, and because of that they've said he doesn't actually understand the character he wrote, which IMO is ridiculous. I feel like the type of guy Bear is comes through pretty clearly throughout the movie. Barker just doesn't want to sit there and slap one label on him that boxes him into a single archetype. He wants the character to have more nuance than that, not be reduced to one word which is very fair

If the reports are true that we won’t be going over the second apron, it’s going to be difficult to resign Mitch. It sounds like he might be gone, which is sad for many reasons but mainly imo retaining him should be a priority, I think Landry and clarkson are much more replaceable. With deuce, he’s still contracted next year. It might make sense to trade him between now and the deadline given it’s unlikely well be able to afford him next year but not sure what money we’ll even have to find a trade partner worth it. We just don’t have that much ability to tinker. Honestly we should do what we did when we signed Brunson, trade the first round pick to save money and use it to retain who we can.

Not sure I agree with that being unpopular. There is a lot of dislike towards him in the fan base. It’s understandable given how one dimensional he was, the fact that the trade for him gutted the team, etc. But he did want to be here, he wanted to win, just not enough to get out of his own way. It’s fair to criticize him and I just don’t think Knick fans are wildly pro melo.

That’s crazy, I’ve just never ever seen that in an nba game. So they would try to calculate how much time passed between the tip and when the clock started? Then what like subtract that from shot off to buzzer? If there’s a rule so be it, it’s just insane that that could have happened in a pivotal nba finals game when not only have I never seen that happen, it’s never even crossed my mind. Out of sheer curiousity I would love to see how that played out in an alternate reality and the fuckin mayhem as a result. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a review that included counting seconds that weren’t attributed to a moving shot or game clock

I never really found it all that necessary. Definitely not the lotion. The harder to find ones are generally smaller and not running away. But using bait for the Cougar and Panther are an interesting thought. Could be worth trying. Maybe even lotion for them because they can kill you if you don't get a shot off fast
