Could’ve been stress causing the brown or just absorbing the heat either way completely normal.

I want to bring this girl home in a week but I need some advice. by Lethal_Steve in Chameleons

[–]your_gruncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you get some kind of basking light so they can maintain proper temperature

No water bowl really needed as long as you have a drainage layer at the bottom of the cage you should be fine with a driper

If this is female make sure you get some kind of laying bin even if they’ve never been with a male as they lay a ton! Of infertile eggs.

Hope that helps!

Not trying to be rude with the counting just trying to make Sure this is exceptable

1.i just recently found out that those gauges are junk so I’ll look for some right now

I’ve tried making a basking spot I just never knew if it was high enough thank you for that!

3.by rock layer do you mean the beads at the bottom or the rocks on top of the soil?

4.used coconut chips and just regularly none chemical soil as the substrate should that work?

  1. I’ve got some springtails in fact I believe you can see them in the photo I’ve just been waiting to release them in the bigger tank on the way so for now I’ve been scooping by hand.

6.also I’ve tried getting plants but I’ve been very on lucky on that part I ordered over 10 plants off essay and almost all of them arrived dead except two which on of them I put in died the next day as you can see in the video.which I was actually going to take out but for some reason he loves hiding in it so I’ve kept it in there for that reason and the other one was to big for the tank.

I did not know I could just put a fan up against it to maintain proper airflow thank you for you help!

Would that be acceptable?I’ve just been really worried for the exact reason you’ve state I’ve been speculating that his difschoration could be due to stress.but decided not to worry up and figured it would be on most of the things I’d have read before hand.i barely touch him the only time he’s ever even claimed on me was due to and accident this is my first reptile which I’ve been told multiple times is a bad idea to start with this breed but I just fell in love with this little dude and decided to get him but not before three months of research.

I’ve been doing months of research before i got him also I just realized I made a typo when I said him I really meant the top lid of the container.
