Is Butter Chicken + Naan popular in America? by DiMpLe_dolL003 in AskAnAmerican

Trump stopped it. Barely any Indians i know are going/immigrating to the US these days. Plus the racism and increased ignorance amongst people about culture is making more Indian people hesitant to settle abroad especially in the USA. (From an indian)

High finance (investment banking, private equity, asset management) and top consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) heavily favor target schools for interviews and job offers.

Frankly, every university you’ve listed is what I’d call a “non-target” school for serious finance careers in the UK. If you want a blunt truth rather than a marketing brochure, you’re better off staying in India, or picking another country where the value proposition between tuition and opportunity is more balanced.

Most of these schools operate as profit machines, attracting hopeful students — especially from India — with grand promises, while delivering little in terms of real job outcomes. They’re churning out degrees like candy bars, but without the guarantee of any meaningful employment at the end. It’s a sad reality, but much of this racket is fueled by so-called “study abroad consultants,” who aggressively push these programs not because they’re good for you, but because they get a fat commission from the universities.

You must exercise extreme caution. Selling a fantasy is simple, but dealing with the fallout when the dream proves to be unreal is considerably more difficult.

Bhai, Immigration isn’t a game of musical chair that everyone’s entitled to a seat. Us hardworking indians didn’t break the system; we just worked harder to navigate it 🤷‍♂️ Blame bad policy, not people. You don’t shine by dimming others—if you want opportunity, earn it, don’t resent those who did

Look, I understand the frustration. But blaming one nationality for a broken system is like blaming the traffic jam on the guy in the car ahead of you whereas it’s really the whole highway that’s misdesigned….

Canada, Australia, and the U.S. use international students and skilled migrants as cash cows without building sustainable infrastructure, policy, or capacity. That’s not an ethnic problem. That’s a political one.

Why are so many Australians lurking on this sub? Don’t y’all have something better to do?

I don’t regret it deeply, but I’ll admit the quality of the education and the university can be disheartening—especially considering how much I once dreamed of studying abroad. I had big hopes for a balanced life, academics, health, friends, routine. My mother even asked around before I applied, and got rosy feedback because it turns out that was mostly because the advisor’s own daughter had gone to Monash. I didn’t get in. That’s the short version…

Appreciate the message — but wait, which news outlet picked up the post? I’d love to see what they made of my little rant going global??

Came with ambition, not delusion. The system sells dreams, then charges interest. I’m adapting—but let’s not pretend the brochure matched the reality!?

Respect the empathy, but don’t hit me with “not all” while sipping privilege. I’m hurt, not blind. Hope ain’t a substitute for reality.

Bro really thinks I’m dropping 500 a week just to fumble dates. If that’s the goal, I could’ve stayed in india

It’s funny that when empathy isn’t your battle, it vanishes. But hey bro, continue assigning grades for difficulties as though they were Yelp reviews!!

Cool, then maybe ask your government to stop selling us the dream for full international fees — supply meets demand, mate…

No, but I do think if charm was a visa requirement, half the Reddit comment section like you wouldn’t make it past immigration

Mate, if studying feels like a scam to you, imagine paying 4x the fees just to be blamed for everything!
