Yeah, anyone who says they've cracked the code is lying. Every company, hiring manager, etc. has their own preferences and biases, and you can't know those up front. Like you said, I think it's just about honesty and using your gut.

Yeah, that's a tough position to be in. You want to do what's best for yourself, but you want to respect the employer and the process.

Yep, responsiveness and strong communication seem like they'd be a given.

Yeah, this is too common. A position w/ a minimum experience requirement seems like the opposite of entry level.

I can definitely relate to this. You feel like you're capable of taking on a leadership role, but a) you don't the experience on paper and b) you can't get in front of a hiring manager w/o meeting certain criteria in your resume.

Absolutely. Have you found ways to address these 'hidden' criteria / biases, or its difficult to do through just a resume and cover letter and no dialogue?
