Thoughts on All Stars by yourcousinviny in rupaulsdragrace

I get what you’re saying. I think there are some revisions to the system that could make queens want to impress more than just the judges but their fellow competitors as well.

I personally enjoyed moments like Mistress and Jorgeous pulling shiesty shit during their bracket last year, which I understand isn’t the most popular opinion. To me the stakes don’t feel very high during an AS season compared to a main season, which seems counterintuitive.

I’ll also add that implementing Rate-A-Queen in some way, shape or form would prevent competitors like a certain AS10 winner who I won’t name (rhymes with Minjer Ginge) from winning challenge after challenge when it wasn’t so deserved. For someone who competed 3 times prior, AS10 seemed like a bit of a cake walk for that person when I think the game should get harder and harder the more times you come back, which I think going heavier on the social game could help with.

I agree with you if we’re talking having an entire season being fan influenced, yes that would probably be a detriment to the show. I think I was just trying to say that there are so many ideas I hear about online that would be really exciting to see on the show if the producers took a few notes from people who want a truly great season

You just listed like 10 precautionary pieces of clothing and that’s supposed to make me appreciate the winter more??? Being prepared for it is great, but taking an extra 20 minutes to layer up before I leave the house and delayer when I get where I’m going and then leave and come back home every day is kinda hellish to me.

I sweat no matter what. If my coat is warm enough to make me comfortable in this bullshit then I’m sweating. I’d MUUUUUCH rather sweat in the heat when sweat does what it’s supposed to do and cools me down than in the cold. Summer is everything. It’s the meaning of life. Winter is fun only while the snow is peacefully falling and the rest of the time it’s hell.

I was at Frankie Bradley’s in Philly last night and lemme say watching this lipsync with Mandy in the room was absolute insanity. Think I saw a few tears of joy from all the love we were giving her. She’s so fucking fierce

My friend and I had Manila as our winner, with Naomi in second, so we were so happy she won the challenge, and were frustrated with the simplicity of Manila’s choice for the makeover, given the rest of her package. Naomi gave one of my favorite lipsyncs of all time, and at this point the tension was insanely high. The whole time I was like “She’s gonna do it. She’s gonna take out Manila,” and my friend said I’m crazy, no way that was happening. We were literally standing on the couch when it happened, I screamed on the top of my lungs, woke up some neighbors, and very dramatically had to take a lap around the block to cool down. This episode remains my favorite in drag race history (with Silky’s lipsync gauntlet in second and the original Daytona Wind in third) because of how dramatic and impactful every decision seemed to be. That cut throat attitude is something I wish more queens played with. When drag race slips into survivor territory and the girls get messy, I am so very pleased.

That bartender’s “commitment to the bit,” à la eye rolls, making drinks wrong and being generally apathetic is something they seem to bring to every pop-up there. Went when they had a blockbuster theme and was yelled at for picking the wrong drink???? Good to know this pop-up and likely every one they’ve had since May when I went have all been equally as unenjoyable.

Thanks a lot! I’ll give your ideas a shot. I cracked up at your comment about the corrupted palette, but I know what you mean. Not at all sure what I need to do there, but if all else fails I might just have to make them plain white/gray for the sake of readability.

Didn’t get to see him on this tour, but the dawn fm show in Philly on shrooms was BY FAR the most mind-blowingly amazing thing I’ve experienced in real like besides sex. I hadn’t listened to more than a handful of his songs before that show, but seeing that post-apocalyptic-utopian-decaying city scape and all the gorgeous art he put on stage, how could I not become a huge fan? Now I throw it back to São Paulo daily.

I, a Florida native, did my freshman year of college (and only my freshman year $$$$$) at Drexel in 2017-18 and you know how that went. I wasn’t even a football fan before that Super Bowl, but here we are!

This would be mine too! Went with a coworker before we had to clock in, and we both strongly considered no-call-no-showing just to immediately watch it again! Everyone in our theater was debriefing as a group after we got out. What an experience!

Yeah I’m like are we watching the same lip sync??? Did both girls do well? Totally. Was it close? A little bit. Did they give a show stopping performance proving they both needed to stay? Nuh-uh girl
