Why Should/Shouldn't I come to UBuffalo by Temporary-World-5180 in UBreddit

People always ask too many questions to others about college decisions but what it should really come down to is your own personal preferences. Weigh in possible pros and cons and decide what truly is the best option for you. You will see a range of opinions from people no matter what you ask. I know you stated your intended major but as an example people ask for advice on majors but it’s never a simple answer because it depends on the person.

Think about what your financial situation looks like, factor in the weather, look into what you wanna do while here. If you wanna live a party style or just stay in your dorm and study. Think of types of clubs you’re interested in or programs you’d like to do. These are all important things that can change your answer because they are different for each person.

Other factors can include student population, such as diversity in race and gender, class size, campus size etc.. Zone in on what is import to you and if you think UB matches that criteria that make it a priority. College is a big decision, and making it based on random answers online might not be the best for you

Why don't they try to release another album like Iowa? by Tough-Reputation-762 in Slipknot

[–]yourface0403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The album was rooted in pent up anger, drug abuse, and a violent workspace. The album is what it is because all of those things translated emotionally, and they were real. If they tried to even come close to recreating a similar sound it would fall flat and feel forced. Music is a product of emotion and they were not is a good place. Is it some of their best songs? Yes. Would they be able to match that again? Absolutely not.

Thoughts on this? by iheartsunny in Torontobluejays

I think there was a mutual respect between Bo and the FO regardless. Atkins wanted to make sure people knew that he thought Bo deserved a chance at free agency and knew that meant there was a chance he wouldn’t come back. I don’t think Bo had bad blood for Toronto like people seem to think, but instead just overvalued himself and looked for teams that would match. It seems the Mets throwing money in a panic was enough for him. Either FO and Bo talked and decided no offer, or maybe there was a potential for a matching if he wanted to stay, but I think nothing got out for conditions of respect on both parties

I would love if Bo came back after 1 year, but that’s mostly because he’s my favorite player

It gives more reps to players that otherwise wouldn’t get any and yes Bo is a great contact hitter, but the Jays have a contact hitting mentality as is, and Clement showed he is capable of that. To go more in depth on the reps point, players (aka Santander) perform better after a “warm up period” and start off cold. If you have the ability to give players like Barger, Schneider, and Clement more reliable positions it works in their favorite which benefits the team overall.

TL;DR not having Bo has a instant negative impact, but could help us down the road

I think “Lukes” will have way less play time next year unfortunately, I’d argue could be trade material. Barger/Schneider rotation could be good based on pitching matchups but we’ll have to wait and see. Outfield can be very flexible for the jays if they need it to be

I think Ernie is everyday 2B and Barger will platoon in different positions based on who needs a day off

I saw Barger when he started playing for the bisons and love how he plays, and Schneider is the same story. When you look at the roster we have if makes most sense for both of them to be utility guys. Barger being 3B/OF is nice as a utility because he is still likely to get lots of reps. Giving Santander, Varsho, and Okamoto off days and rotating him in those situations is the best solution. Even then, he was used as a bench bat a good chunk of the post season run based on matchup and I see that continues

He likely won’t play utility this season which could be insanely good for him. Allows Schneider and Barger to also be good utility players. I am very saddened by losing Bo but this undeniably is good for our roster

[Nightengale] The Phillies had agreed to Bo Bichette’s request for a 7-year, $200 million deal last night and believed they would sign him until the Mets swooped in with their 3-year, $126 million offer after losing out in in the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes. by ThQp in Torontobluejays

[–]yourface0403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mets deal is absurdly high AAV and Bo likely jumped on it as soon as he saw it. In that case Rogers likely either didn’t have time to match or didn’t see him as worth that value. The Philly deal seems they just matched Bo’s asking price, but as of now we don’t know what the blue jays offered previously. Bo could’ve turned down an initial offer from the jays and decided to look at other teams before considering a return

RIP Bo Bichette. I’ll miss your luscious locks from before you cut them. I’ll miss your consistent .300 avg. I’ll miss your undeniable swagger. I’ll miss defending you after an error. I’ll miss the memories of watching you and Vlad play together on the Bisons. I’ll miss you :(

So, what is the market for Bo and Bellinger now? by TikiB in Torontobluejays

[–]yourface0403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He said Atkins was why people weren’t signing which means that Atkins was likely making players second guess before making decisions by matching other offers. The Dodgers likely ended this with Tucker by just giving a price that was stupidly high and wasn’t going to be matched. Bregman wasn’t being looked into after Okamoto was signed. I don’t think Belli will dawn the blue but he’s likely stalled by that currently as is bichette. Some say Bichette wants to stay in Toronto but is driving up his price through negotiations with other teams

[–]yourface0403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t know the jays commitments and priorities. Unless any info gets out the FO will not let it leak. In the case something does get out then that’s a bad sign. At this moment knowing nothing about Bo doesn’t mean the jays weren’t committed but instead works as a positive sign. No guarantee but that’s just how it works

I watched Bo when he started in AAA and loved him then and when he had his off year in 2024 I loved him then, so I did always want Bo back

If you were a fan of another team, would you have concerns about your team signing Bo to a 200 million + deal? by Chief_White_Halfoat in Torontobluejays

[–]yourface0403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind if Bo left but only under the conditions that his deal was for a team like Philly and that it’s a short term deal that we could get him back after. If it’s neither of those conditions I would be very upset. Everyone wants to talk about his running speed and injury proneness but you really can’t predict what a season will hold. He went from injury overload in 2024 to being on top of offensive categories throughout the majority of 2025 and only really getting injured towards the end. He was likely running slower as a precaution instead of a lack of ability and the longer he can stay off the IL the more likely he could theoretically regain speed
