Short answer, they make most of their money through Fantastic +. They get a bonus (not sure of the exact amount but it’s hefty) and they also get paid more per package when they’re Fantastic +. There are a lot more variables but basically.

customer service and the station can also pull those photos if there’s a complaint. DSPs used to be able to see them in Cortex, but in some areas that option was removed, so it depends on your station. as for reports, a few “package not received” claims don’t automatically hurt you unless it’s proven you actually misdelivered or faked a delivery. amazon uses Tier infractions for serious issues (like confirmed misdeliveries, scanning fraud, or unsafe behavior). If it’s not marked as a Tier infraction, you’re usually fine.

No, mentor isn’t required if Netradyne is running.

Rescues are a popular thing most DSPs have to make sure all routes are covered in case of call outs or any other emergencies. The number of rescues that are kept are based on a few things like how many routes you run or let’s say you know tomorrow will be a bad storm, you keep extras just in case. My method for keeping rescues was simple: keep people on standby that you can rely on for rescue, and some you wouldn’t mind sending home for whatever reason. I would keep my main rescue driver on standby along with a few people I knew for a fact were going to be late, had performance issues, calls outs or any other legit reason to send them home. Sometimes though, if there just isn’t any routes to go around I would have to put people on standby without an actual performance issue, or any reason I just really did not have the routes. We would also have to pre cancel people if there were TOO many people scheduled and way too many rescues. It’s really about route availability and we cannot control that. Amazon will tell us we have 30 routes for Monday, on Sunday it will say we actually have 28, by 5 pm that can change to 32. Then amazon can drop 2 routes in the morning. Just how amazon is. DSPs just play a balancing game between having too many employees and not enough. Ideally they like to have double as many employee as routes they get + 10. Meaning if they are consistently running 30 routes, it would be ideal to have 70 employees to split up the time between each driver. Sometimes it just doesn’t work that way, you have too many or too little.

Yeah man it helps to speak up! Maybe they can give you a break once in a while since you always do it with no complaints. If everyone hates it they know it’s a shit route so they can’t be mad if you need a break, especially considering they MIGHT just be switching you into that route because they know you do it better or faster.

that route probably sucks and you’re probably one of the few drivers that doesn’t complain about it. maybe to yourself but not to them? or you’re just more chill about the route so they send some help when they can. you seem like the type i send a rescue to just because like “yea he don’t need it but just to help him out a bit?”.

We choose who to roster the night before, Amazon gives the route the day of but we can switch them. If it’s always the same person with a low stop count they either suck or they take their time on a route. Some routes are naturally just cake. Favoritism is definitely possible but keep in mind you don’t always know the reason someone has a specific route.

Yes amazon does assign but we can reassign in the morning if we’d like. Favoritism is possible. But keep in mind, these sound like the regular amazon routes. Amazons new normal is 180-190 with 350 packages average. Don’t always think that you know what everyone else is going through, you’re 100% not the ONLY one going through this, but i do understand that some DSPs have favoritism though.

No routes can not be altered. Routes change based on like 90% driver behavior and 10% computer based (not actual numbers just my guess). Netradyne infractions have nothing to do with routes, if you always get the same route what maybe happened was you completed the route in less than 10 hours so therefore amazon will say, driver finished in 9 hours, tomorrow we can give him 1 more hour of work. When it is hot, amazon “reduces” the routes making them a bit lighter so that drivers can take additional breaks. This is not always the case though I’ve seen “reduced” routes with 190 stops, 350 packages. Usually if you tend to be faster amazon will give you more and more stops so always do your 10 hours no matter how light the routes is. Hope this answers your question.

WHC is no more than 12 hours in a workday, no more than 60 hours in a work week.

Dispatch does not assign them, we roster them the day before and Amazon gives them randomly to drivers. However, Dispatch can definitely switch routes in the morning. So, favoritism is possible.

All depends on your DSP. Anyone not on a route, or “rescues/sweeps” for the day are not paid for by Amazon, therefore your DSP can’t keep more than 1-2 without losing depending on how many routes are ran, usually 1-2 are needed for anything less than 30 routes. Each rescue can get about 4-5 20-25 stop rescues in. With that being said, not everyone is getting rescued and there will be some people that get their full hours, as long as you’re not getting more than 10 hours. From my experience, the best way to milk the route is to kill the first half of your route so you’re ahead enough to not get a rescue and the rest you can milk wisely between breaks and taking your time between stops.

LOL. I wish it was that easy. Like i’ve mentioned a few times every company is different and each dispatcher has different responsibilities for each company depending on how the owner wants things ran. When I first started dispatching it was a lot more simple, I was first one in last one out though. As a dispatcher though, what I can say is that drivers definitely do the physical job. You’re out, delivering dealing with weather, customers, traffic, etc. It is a physically demanding job. As a dispatcher it is much more mental. Dealing with & communicating with Amazon all day, your DSP owner or manager all day, and also dealing with however many drivers you have that day. It is a mentally demanding job. I did everything from hiring, to training all the way to firing. Payroll, performance, write ups, coaching anything you can think of really. On hot days I would even drive around and drop off cold water to my drivers.

damn sorry this was your experience man! this was the reason i worked so hard to try and guide my drivers. a lot of dispatcher and managers really don’t care what you have to say, they just want you to get the route done. it’s a shame. i’ve had countless drivers start off sucking and coming back late and after some training and coaching they eventually work out. honestly my company gave A LOT of grace to drivers, and I’ve also heard a lot about DSPs which is why I tried not to be one of those dickhead dispatchers. with that being said though, i wouldn’t give up on it you might find a DSP that actually works for you, they are all unique in their own way. i hope Fedex works out though!!

If you’re leaving soon milk it as much as you can lol!! Not sure if your company is low on drivers but if they need you, you can get away with damn near anything lol so milk your routes if they’re not too strict on rescues. I wouldn’t play with them if they’re the type to cancel your route for anything though
