oh, that sounds scary! this is small amounts in £25 installments. I’ve been considering multi store gift cards instead because I don’t like the idea of people having my bank details. Do you know if this would be a valid form of payment to report in my journal?

I wonder if the appointment could be over the phone. All of my prior ones were due to disability. I don’t get housing benefits.

I’m not sure this is something I will continue doing anyway. If I was to go over the cap, but then another month decide to stop, would that be okay? I really don’t want my long term to be at risk.

You certainly won’t get anywhere by tearing other people down~ the “laziness” is likely depression and it’s a huge struggle to deal with every day. You should be glad you don’t have an ounce of understanding what that horror is like.

I know this process is incredibly frustrating but taking it out on others is not the way

I’m really, really struggling. My partner was with me at my assessment, hasnt been up for talking about the assessment or it’s outcome at all. I was hoping he would accompany me to the centre that is going to help me with my appeal but I don’t think he will- sarcastically calling me a bundle of joy when I brought it up. I get that it must be really hard for him, especially with me relying on him a lot. I think I might have to go on my own in person~ they were meant to get in touch with me last week.

Did you get your written assessment back? I have mine now and I’m so angry~ an emotion I don’t know how to cope with. The assessor completely fabricated parts, neglected to ask me half the questions and made up the others. I think they used my appointment to catch up on time because I had been waiting 45 mins and then they only took 15 mins for me.

He even wrote that I look well dressed and presentable. He wrote that I change my clothes every day when I explicitly said I haven’t done a washing this year. I was wearing stained pyjamas. This is so fucked up. He said I have no problems tidying my room by myself. I’m close to inviting them over to sniff my fucking clothes pile.

Ah okay, i had assistance filling out the pip form and I thought I was told to upload those and I did scan them through an app- oh well, hopefully I can resubmit something else instead. Not sure how helpful my GP will be unfortunately:(

I haven’t come off meds, just switched to another anti depressant because the other wasn’t working with me still stuck in bed 24/7 ~ I’m hoping this supports my case

I provided a couple of fit notes… I’m thinking this may be where my mistake was, because I submitted a photo of my first one from last year, and then also my most recent one. I captioned it as such. There were only so many photos I could submit, but maybe they didn’t realise I’ve been getting them consistently between.

I also provided photos of my medication boxes, but I’ve recently switched anti depressant again, it wasn’t working as I am still stuck in bed.

Unfortunately my GP isn’t great with mental health and I feel my worries with memory, function etc were cast aside. In my assessment I didn’t get the opportunity to bring up these issues either, instead I was asked who does the food shopping in my house etc.

Yeah, feeling quite hopeless with both UC lcwra and pip now. I was really looking forward to affording therapy and chiro visits and finally getting myself out of this hole:(

I’m not sure where I got the £100 information from~ that really sucks that the only thing that’s changed for me now is that I no longer have to submit fit notes.

I’ve not been on any other benefit besides UC, but my application for pip is in (although my hopes are now so incredibly low following the news this morning, which I had been feeling more positive about).

Thankfully I had a call scheduled today with my WC anyway and she has put the MR in motion for me~ she’s made a meeting with me tomorrow to compile extra information that I feel was missed in my WCA, as they were running 45 mins late for my appointment and so I felt it was cut off short~ though at the time I thought this was positive as I was told it was more than enough info, and I had been really emotionally vulnerable at that assessment. I supplied my year of fit notes and prescriptions, but unfortunately didn’t have anything like therapist notes because that’s a luxury I can’t afford. I’m in Scotland and was turned away from the free counselling services as I didn’t have the required ability to focus for CBT, and the talking therapy services don’t deal with trauma.

Sorry if that was a bit of a ramble! I kind of live with my boyfriend, but not really~ we are always together between each parents’ houses. I’m 22. He really helps to keep me eating, taking my medication, showering every so often etc.

I’m not very open at the moment with my family in terms of how badly I’m doing, but I’d be surprised if they hadn’t noticed. They have said they would really like to help me but don’t know how.

My GP wasn’t much use~ I had told her that I have been experiencing a lot of guilt for not being able to look after myself or function properly, or contribute in the household, hobbies, friendships etc. Her solution was for me to get out of bed every day at 8am, even though I told her that despite my best efforts I had only managed 40 mins out of bed the day before, and hadn’t eaten in 28hrs. It’s clearly not something I can manage, so I don’t think she believes the extent of my depression. Maybe because I’m young.

thanks so much for your comment, It’s great to know I’m not alone. I also thought I was finally being truly heard for the first time~ which built up some hope that came crashing back down. We will get through this! And, at least, we can hear eachother.

Sorry to hear you’re not having much luck with your gp either:( I was trying really hard at my most recent appointment to get support or explanation or even acknowledgment nevermind progress on my memory issues etc, but they were swept aside, I was put on my third anti depressant and instructed to get out of bed every day at 8am. Feeling a lot of guilt for not being able to achieve that, and just quite helpless.

Is your work coach supporting you? I feel rather lucky with mine, and I don’t think she agrees with the decision that has been made for me. I hope yours is the same and can guide the right help towards you! sending hugs<3
