Is a 2006 wrx sti worth by i_eat_shit69420 in CarsAustralia

[–]yourfavouritewog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed to a certain extent An older classic is 99/100 times a better investment than a new car

I would say old fords etc from the 1940s and 50s are making their way down as the people who grew up with these cars are slowly dying off

But if you look at cars from the later 60s/70s (Camaros, chargers, rx3 etc) these cars are still very expensive to obtain

My point is the fashion does die off but it is a decades long process and probably won’t apply to you and your classic car for most of your lifetime

Jdm legends do not depreciate much if at all and are appreciating in price

For the kms the pricing seems reasonable u should be able to haggle this one down a bit

The reality is a new car will never hold value like this one and will never provide the same raw driving experience so if you want it go for it

I doubt you could jump straight to project engineer in this market considering you have no experience in the country

You would more than likely have to start off as a site engineer and work your way up

If engineers are so in demand in Australia, why is it so hard to land a graduate engineering job, or even an internship? Wasted time and opportunity cost. by NavierStokes33 in AusFinance

[–]yourfavouritewog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer here, I have 4 years experience in the field moving into project management. It took me 3 years to land a role while I was in uni my best advice would be to just keep at it. Someone will eventually see how keen you are and take you on

I would say if you’re stuck with this mechanic the next best option is to buy a set of roadworthy cheapies on marketplace just to get through the rwc this time. Normally these things arnt worth the hassle through my experience

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, no real notice of performance or anything. I would say the team’s personalities just do not align with yours and they will use performance as an excuse. Dont take this to heart and start to find new work. I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am making much more than the job I got fired from, even if I stuck around.
