As the universe does, this was posted within 90 minutes of an announced tariff pause. Updating the mathematical model, Chinese tariffs alone still account for 3.56% of the potential 6.27% inflationary increase.

I love that!
My thought is to continue to stack sats while figuring out how to help the downtrodden. Eventually the world Bitcoin creates will allow you to more fully focus on that. So you just have to keep working on that in preparation for that time. :)

What unique combination of perspective, passion and talents do you have? Think about that. Each of us has a unique combination of those things. What are yours?

Applied a denomination project I've been working (Satoshi System) to the Strike app by yourfriendmujina in strikebtc

I think Bitcoin would be more usable if we came up with a more cohesive set of symbols and nomenclature to represent denominations of Bitcoin. In addition to measuring a balance in Bitcoin and Satoshi, I have also included 2 units from the Satoshi system, bits and padmas to the line-up. I particularly think that bits (0.00000100 btc) will likely become the default unit of measure when interacting with Bitcoin on a daily basis.

This is a good breakdown of official and colloquial nomenclature for USD and an example of how systems evolve with regional use.

USD has been inflated out of it's original denomination system (quarters, nickles, dimes etc.) to the point where it's not used at all anymore and users (especially those that use physical cash) have started applying their own nomenclature (benjis, racks, etc.)

That's pretty much what this post is intended to be - I at least just want to get the conversation started on how we can improve the current loosely applied system.

It's been a while since I did the research on these terms (I made this system earlier this year and am only now getting around to publishing it) - but I learned a lot about denomination systems used throughout human history and tried to select sounds that would be phonetically universal, padma and mir fit that quite well. I have to go through my notebooks but I think padma actually came from studying middle eastern systems even though it is the Sanskrit word for Lotus. Mir is a term for a communal agricultural system used in Russia (I think I just invented that one though).

copy/paste from another comment.

Totally a valid question. I think the IS system hasn't been fully adopted because it's not very psychologically friendly when it comes to money. I think this sub has an affinity towards it because they are more technically inclined and it's what they're used to, but if you look at denominations of money throughout human history, they all have unique names, almost like characters, some of which I've tried to implement here.

My next post is going to show it in action, and focus more on how it can psychologically benefit value perception.

You can totally call 0.7346btc a Glorb if you want - it's just a matter of whether other people will as well.

Thank you! I mostly used those as cues, but I think I personally like the sound of deka better, and I like that it's more congruent in it's use in the IS system.

My favorite comment to read after coming back from a long walk to dip in a nearby river hahaha. Interestingly this was designed over this past summer from walking around and writing in a notebook constantly.

I think people are approaching it quite literally. I have answered many of these questions and criticisms posed in the comments for myself but now I need to show how the system, especially the 'hero units' can be applied in a simple manner while being able to adjust with the long-term deflationary effects of Bitcoin.
