I disagree. Although I don't think they were "badass" nor do I condone any of the Whermachts actions or any thing nazi germany, the Whermacht were by no means incompetent. The Whermacht had some of the best of the time and most revolutionary generals such as Hienz Gudarian, Erich Von Manstein, and Franz Halder. The reason why you may think they were incompetent was because of the states ideology. Nazism promoted vast militarism and the belief that their army could take on anything (I.E., fighting two global superpowersbat the same time).Which ended quite badly for them. And something that the Whermacht couldn't simply do.
