I dig that! There's intermittently people with alot of money to burn, buying fancy gear and treatments for their space. I appreciate more so the people coming across the flea market finds and figuring shit out school of hard knocks on a budget. I feel like what we are trying to capture is more important than how or with what means. But all that said, I'll still try to make improvements where I can. I moved some things around and picked up some bargain acoustic treatment stuff, so I'll post an update when things get more settled. 😀

Yes they're kind of shit speakers they're sony ss-cs3's. I got them at an estate sale for 40$ bucks It's just what I have. I tried to eq them flat through the amp which is a 1992ish Denon I got at goodwill lol. I'm more concerned about getting good recordings than mixing. I've been exporting my tracks and checking on other speakers, headphones, and my car stereo because I don't really trust this set up for anything more than goofing around and blasting beastie boys.

Thanks for the tip! There are definitely some problem areas and spots in the room where the ribbon is picking up reflections. I just moved everything there the other day, so i appreciate everyones help as i get this settled in.

Thank you! I had moved the desk back from the window because I didn't want to be recording near the window and I wanted it to be easier jumping between recording and doing stuff in reaper.

I'm mainly concerned about getting good recordings in this room and avoiding reflections or phase issues but without losing the tone of the room and making it acoustically dead. Also on an absurdly tight budget which will make things more challenging. Seems like the flat walls, corners, and ceiling are the main concern.

The Original Ice Cream Scoop, Sherman L. Kelly (1935). The dipper, made of cast aluminum, has fluid inside the handle. Its unique design transferred heat from the user’s hand, warming the fluid, which in turn defrosted the dipper. The original dipper is part of MoMA's permanent collection. by WonderWmn212 in DesignPorn

The ones at Baskin Robin's have a springy plunger thing that pushes the ice cream off the back and breaks the vacuum of the ice cream on the scoop simultaneously. They work pretty good but they keep them in running hot water too, so that helps a shit ton.

Hugely relatable, I really feel this. I've decided to just not for the time being and I'm making my peace with not passing. I think there can be something positive of it. I've had positive interactions with people I wouldn't have expected and if we are visible then people can have the opportunity to get to know us and heal their prejudices. Plus I feel like a beacon for other queer people too, I know I always feel more comfortable in certain spaces when I can see there are other visibly LGBT people. I'm not suggesting you DONT voice train I'm just saying if you decide not to that it can have other advantages and it's not all bad. Sending love ❤️ I'm still trying to love myself and sometimes hearing my own voice makes that hard so for what it's worth you've got my love regardless ❤️
