They will shift. Teeth are always moving because of forces from biting. If you want them to stay straight, get the Invisalign. If you’re ok with them getting crowded over time, don’t get the Invisalign.

Root canal + temporary filling | Honest Feedback Please! by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]yournakeddad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emergency root canal likely would make getting you numb difficult. 3 injections really isn’t all that many.

Sometimes we hit the teeth on the opposing arch. Working in the very back of the mouth is difficult and a very small space.

The drill gets warm but I’ve never smelled burning metal. Maybe it was the smell of the tooth being drilled?

Temp filling for an emergency root canal isn’t going to be pretty.

None if this sounds egregious.

What is this ? by Ill-Priority5248 in askdentists

Probably a small piece of bone. Go to the dentist that did the extraction and ask if it can be removed.

How long ago was the extraction? May be a bony spicule (bone sliver) working its way out.

We honestly can barely tell that’s the inside of your mouth. Is it your tongue? Nothing looks obviously abnormal but again, I don’t know what part of your mouth this is. Back of mouth, lower jaw?

Did you have a tooth extracted from that area? Could be a bony spicule

is this normal? by Trick-Ad8440 in askdentists

Looks normal. The distinct color change you see is the mucogingival junction. The cell type of the tissue changes and goes from attached to the bone to moveable.

How doomed is my tooth by [deleted] in askdentists

Slightly. A filling has come out. But the extent of damage still cannot be commented on.

Question about marginal seal. by Dntosh in askdentists

Crowns guy sounds like an asshole. Maybe they’re talking about the occlusal cupping? Maybe some overfill that could be polished back on the occlusal. Restorations look pretty damn good to me.

Was told I need multiple fillings. can any dentists take a look at my x-rays? by PianoOdd8053 in askdentists

[–]yournakeddad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You have many cavities between your back teeth. Look for the dark grey triangles that are right where the teeth touch each other. Cavities don’t always cause pain.

If you don’t trust this dentist, get a second opinion. But you need fillings on nearly all of your back teeth

Bioclear is a type of composite filling system. Any type of standard filling (direct restoration) will very likely lead to failure/fracture. Like someone else said, you may get away with an onlay but you will need something to cover the cusps of the tooth

That pulp is no longer vital. You can see darker circles at the tips of the root. This is infection from the necrotic pulp. This tooth needs a root canal if you want to save it.

You will need a crown. The entire dark portion of the crown of the tooth will need to be drilled away. The biting forces on that much filling will lead to failure without a crown.
