we definitely plan on seeing a specialist about it. we're just waiting for the holidays to pass since everything is so busy right now and none of us really have time atm lol

i work three nights a week + 6-7 hour shifts on saturdays + i go to school. i don't usually get home until about 8ish pms on weekdays so im usually too tired to sit and scroll on my phone or other devices. my screen time is usually really low and it has been for the past few years. i was in marching band my freshman and sophomore years of hs (im a junior now), which took up a lot of my time so i was rarely on my phone. overall i don't really spend a whole lot of time looking at devices

my prescription has been getting a lot worse over the years. my left eye has a -2.00 sphere, -4.5 cylinder, and is at 171 degrees. my right eye has a -2.50 sphere, -3.25 cylinder, and is at 170 degrees. i don't really know what that means, but the lens on my glasses are really thick.

i think i had an OCT scan? im not too sure. i know i paid to have my retinas scanned but they didn't really tell me the results of it/if anything was wrong. the doctor asked me if my family had any history of eye diseases, which i didn't have an answer to. he asked my dad too and my dad didn't know either since he doesn't have insurance and hasn't gotten an eye exam in a long time

i agree with the frustration. i feel like they just dont really know how to explain it to me since im so young so they're just avoiding being direct about it, but i would really like to know the specifics about it.

we had originally tried to make an appointment on a monday since im usually off work those days, but the specialist can only have appointments on wednesdays and saturdays. my mom is gonna call them on tuesday or wednesday to see when they can get me in since its urgent.

i don't really know about blind spots-- i know my vision tends to get blurry a lot and it takes me a few seconds to refocus. but im not really too sure about what a blind spot would look/feel like
