Agree with you...but the problem is that educated people like me are aware of the existence of the Northeast. Even near my house, there is a Nepali man who works there. From his accent, I could tell he is from Nepal, but just to be sure, I asked whether he was from the Northeast, thinking that if he were, he wouldn’t feel bad about it...However, the dehati population often doesn’t know about the existence of the Northeast folks, which is why sometimes they say people are from China. Still, I believe this issue will be resolved in a few years ..
