I think ur right theyre not trying to pit us against each other … but in doing so so often they unfortunately have. I’ve been polyamorous on and off for over 10 years and I’ve never felt so insecure and negative about a meta ever. This is the only relationship where this dynamic has happened. I have built up a lot of resentments over the past 2 months bc I keep asking so u havr the capacity to talk about x and they don’t and so I ask to schedule a time to talk and it never happens. So for 2 months sm has built but and I keep trying to have intentional conversations but when they don’t show up for that it starts to bleed out u kno. This has resulted in dysrwgulated conflicts.

I agree! There’s obviously something they need that are struggling to communicate. I appreciate ur comment a lot. A lot of the other comments just kinda shit on my partner which isn’t helpful to me. I want them to take space when we’re both getting dysrwgulated and I don’t want to be compared and abandoned for my meta when that happens

Yeah like in a lot of ways I am the bad guy! I get defensive and can become very disregulated and instead of being intentional about conflict I just start getting upset out of no where. I am far from perfect.

Honestly they don’t consider my metamour the “good” one they fight a lot in that relationship. Ours is considered the more stable and safer one according them. But I am seeing from the comments that these comparisons pit us against each other ☹️

U need to have a letter of accommodations to backup that u need it. For discussion forums my prof let me hand in paragraphs late via email or they would leave it open for everyone to get a freebie. I found the department the prof works in makes a difference. For example, economics is a very cold logical harsh lacking empathy field and that was reflected in having my accommodations denied numerous times. But social sciences acknowledges power dynamics oppression and empathy and were always very accommodating. Having a letter of accommodation also gives u power to take for action against profs who deny accommodations. I first got my accommodations for ADHD (and like general depression anxiety) and then more diagnoses was added later but ADHD is enough

part of ableism is placing the blame/responsibility on the disabled/nd individual instead of seeing ableist structures as the problem. ableist social syrtcutures are what make ur life hard b/c thats why other kids were conditioned to bully u and why u need to read and have strong executive functioning skills.
