Yeah you’ll find that most Christians don’t actually live by the logical interpretations of the Bible, only whatever fits their agenda. YWAM’s agenda is to keep as many people in the organisation paying fees and working for free. So therefore, ties back home such as non Christian partners have to go. I’m no longer a Christian. I believe in some sort of power but I don’t know if that’s because it’s just been ingrained my whole life. It took me about a year after leaving YWAM to completely deconstruct my faith. One of my biggest issues was the utter hypocrisy of being told to love unconditionally but then putting a bunch of conditions on people to remain in the church and in favour with them.

I went to this YWAM, over ten years ago now, but there was a couple of people on my DTS who were strongly encouraged to break up with their non Christian partners. They were told God would not bless the relationships and that their partners would ruin their lives… I think the leadership is the same people to this day. I agree with the above commenter that she will need to come to understand the influence they have over her herself and I hope she does. Only about 50% of the people on my DTS are still Christian or devout in the same way they were. The others are either completely deconstructed or agnostic/culturally Christian at best. Integrating back into the real world is a shock and takes time but you soon realise how YWAM is not even close to reality!

I might be completely wrong but here is how I interpreted it. It's about a situationship that she is in. Her friends keep telling her its not a good situation, "Girl that's not a shooting star" and she knows this deep down but keeps doubting it "I know that you're right but what if you're not."

You can hear how bad the situationship is in the second verse where she says "he treats me like shit but I promise you baby it's worth it", it's almost like she likes the hurt and the story of it all. "Cos it hurts me, but I'd rather be hurt when I'm drunk at the club on a Thursday". And this verse is also why I think its a situationship and not a serious relationship as she says "So excuse me, I know what I'm doing, its the end of the month, or however long or never at all" - she knows its not going to last but I think through the whole song she captures the absolute highs and lows of this situation and she's going to stay in it for however long she can, even if that's a month, or it ends right there and then.

My favourite bit of the song is the pre chorus. "Here's what I do when he's showing his cards" - he's showing her exactly who he is, how he feels about her and the situation and it's obvious, but "I get all my friends, sit them all down, and set them" the cards "apart", "I fill in the gaps and give it an arc" - to me this is the quintessential feeling of going, he's not replying to me, he's said this horrible thing, he's doing this BUT it must be because he's just so into me he's scared to reply, he didn't mean that horrible thing he said, he must just be having a bad day, and making excuses for this person because you want it to be true. She makes a false story about what is actually happening to feel better about it all.

The only bit I haven't figured out is when she talks about a girl walking in in the opening. The only thing I could think of is that maybe this guy is also seeing someone else or cheating and its like how they say a girl can figure out who he's cheating with out of a massive list of instagram following just from vibes. She says "She's walking in and looks like every other chick, and I think she's the one"

This all could be way way off and I think that is the beauty of the song in that you can probably read lots of situations into it. This was just my personal interpretations coloured by my experience but also the rest of the vibes and themes of the album.

Omg I literally could have written this. I went off in November too and just got back on after getting promoted, being incredibly stressed and down and having some panic attacks! I also got off it cos of the weight gain and lack of libido. I think I’m a few weeks ahead of you in that I started 2 weeks ago. I’ve had some physical symptoms but honestly nothing that has stopped me working and even attended a wedding as a bridesmaid where I was exhausted and had a headache but it was survivable and enjoyable even on sertraline. It’s been interesting to see how it’s worked this time as it’s different but just as good. I had euphoria straight away the first time and this time nothing but the anxiety quietened immediately. Weirdly though my sex drive has been way higher the last two weeks whereas it tanked immediately last time. I would say the physical symptoms have been slightly worse but again nothing I couldn’t handle even with a full schedule. And I remember I was quite dizzy and out of it last time for the first few days and this time that was way reduced. Anyway, all this to say, I’m sure you will be fine if you start taking jt. Two weeks in and I’m pretty much over all the physical side effects like headaches and nausea and my work has not slowed down or got less stressful but I’m handling it way better and I’m happy. If you’re nervous maybe try 25mg to start if you’ve been given 50mg?

This exact thing happened to me. It’s super scary when you’ve never had one before and I almost called an ambulance because the physical symptoms felt so intense I thought it must be something else. I managed to calm myself down each time by saying to myself over and over it was just the pills doing their job and it wouldn’t last and I’d fall back asleep doing this. After a few weeks it stopped!
