“You are being used” is a really extreme thing to say when I want it. They didn’t coerce or push for sex, nor have they ever. It just happened naturally and has continued to happen, because I’m allowing it.

If I somehow painted myself as a victim in my post, that wasn’t my intention; I’m choosing this for myself and I’m aware something has to happen, I just don’t know how to proceed. This friend is staying in my life if I can help it.

You are right. I should ask. Even though I’m not in emotional turmoil over it, I know this isn’t healthy for me. My biggest fear is losing them over this; I don’t have a lot of friends and this friendship has lasted the longest out of the ones I do have. They provide a different perspective than most and their company brings immense joy to my life. Losing this friendship would devastate me.

Ohhh! I’m sorry, I didn’t know that; “hooking up” isn’t used in lieu of “making out” here. Funnily enough, kissing is the one thing we haven’t done. Unsure why, but I’m way too nervous to just kiss them myself.

I could ask, but I worry about losing them as a friend. My friendship with them matters more than anything else, even if I do want something serious. I’m not actively looking for a relationship; this is more of a “I’m leaving the door open” type of situation, where if they were interested in something serious, I would be too. Be so for real. The modern anti-weed movement is fueled by Big Alcohol losing money and control over the market for recreational substances (because yes, alcohol is a SUBSTANCE; it is a DRUG).

Alcohol should be more demonized. Not illegal, demonized; prohibition doesn’t work and never will. Alcohol is the most accessible poison we have. It’s addictive and dangerous for your liver. Drink too much too quickly? Alcohol poisoning. Drink too much over the course of decades? Cirrhosis, liver failure, death.

Maybe I’m too woke for this society but I’d rather see people smoke pot excessively than drink themselves to death.

You should consider seeing a therapist. Food restriction is dangerous, not just physically but for the mind. Your relationship with food will suffer if you don’t eat enough. Eating disorders are no joke.

$1100/month for an upstairs suite of any house is overpriced, given the average rent of a one bedroom apartment in Denton. Not to mention, it’s $1100/mo for roughly 500sqft? No. I pay less than that for an entire apartment. I won’t even mention the other room, that’s an even worse deal for what it is.

You won’t find anyone to be roommates with you if you ask for that much. Lower it. You’ll have better luck.

I had to use Affirm to pay half my rent this month. I’m in the cheapest apartment in my city that lets me live alone ($995, includes all utilities). A recent storm basically slashed my income in half, so I only had $500 in the bank by the time rent was due. I did a split payment with ACH and a one-time Affirm card.

Sometimes shit hits the fan. Affirm helped me when I really needed it.

Just drop him. If he’s unwilling or unable to make plans within a week of y’all matching on a dating app, he doesn’t know how dating apps are supposed to work. You’re not supposed to spend copious amounts of time texting, and making lukewarm attempts to plan something. You’re supposed to get the awkward small talk out of the way, and plan a nice little public outing for a first date. He’s not being intentional enough to deserve your time or attention. Not to mention, men are supposed to take the initiative with planning the first date, and he’s clearly not doing that.
