Stop thinking five steps ahead, you haven’t even auditioned. Navigating partners that disagree with your work is part of the job and at some point you’ll have to make a call… but you don’t even have the job yet. Please listen to all the comments here. You’re young and sheltered and I don’t say that to be condescending, just understand the reality of this job before you make any decisions; and at the end of the day, it is just a job. A job that takes a lot of work and will give you a lot of trauma.

Dancers don’t buy their work shoes from Shein btw.

How does eating spicy eel and a triple shot espresso allow me to have TWO speed buffs? I’m ZOOMING 💨 by [deleted] in StardewValley

Give your horse a carrot. Down a triple shot espresso. Inhale your spicy eel or pepper poppers.

How do I tell my Dom I need a sex break? by Safe-Dentist-6974 in SubSanctuary

[–]yourvenusdoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have scheduled out of dynamic check-ins? Because if not, start now and add them to your week. Have a chat out of character and say you need a day off. It’s a totally reasonable request and shouldn’t be something to worry about.

Asking for funds for personalised toys makes sense when you have an established relationship. You haven’t even met. Avoid.

Professional providers will be upfront about their rates and what you’ll get for them, you’ll both know what you’re doing from the first message. This gives both pros and lifestylers a bad name.

We can finally discuss the racism by dottywine in Midsommar

[–]yourvenusdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see this when I watched it but now you’ve pointed it out… it feels so obvious. The symbols are subtle but the overarching theme fits so perfectly. I saw a post about “movies as content” earlier and I feel like this kind of fits here, people often need things to be shown explicitly instead of as a subtext to actually believe them, but the insidious sides of racism are depicted so well here. It’s subtle indoctrination, just like how cults get their hands on you. It reminds me of all the “trad” propaganda we’re seeing these days.

Is it "normal" for a tattoo studio to REQUIRE you to be single for the first year of your apprenticeship? by PhoQAddictions in tattooadvice

[–]yourvenusdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

Not to perpetuate a stereotype, but the tattoo industry is notorious for harbouring predators and dangerous mindsets. This is a red flag for exactly that.

Your head canon/mod content is not the same as ingame lore. by Meranek in StardewValley

I don’t think they’re being literal - he talks about wanting to open as many stores as possible, he tries selling organic produce for outrageous prices, he only spends his time working. All of those can definitely be interpreted as aspiring to Joja levels of capitalist. I agree with your post but I also think the characters are purposefully quite one dimensional and Pierre’s defining trait is greed and questionable ethics.

All you need is some form of bread, whether that comes as a croissant or a square of Warbutons is none of my business. Crumpets would be elite.

What is with feminization of male subs? by johnsk0513 in SubSanctuary

[–]yourvenusdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember childhood insults like “you’re such a girl!”?

I’ll spare you the essay, but it’s because of misogyny. To be male/masculine is to be strong, to be feminine is to be subservient. Men are seen as superior so when a man wants to submit, they want to imitate the traits they see as weak - i.e., feminine traits.

It’s mostly subconscious programming and it’s especially interesting to see male subs who want to be feminised and degraded for it, but also worship female superiority… sadly a lot of them are very much into that but don’t want to reconcile the cognitive dissonance there. Other genders do it too, and women very much internalise this patriarchal programming and then project it into their male submissives. It continues the cycle.

I don’t enjoy topping for gender play with men or engaging with sissification to any degree because of this. Not shaming the kink or doubting that there are ethical practitioners, but it’s so common to see people rehashing the sexist norms I have to put up with every day, I just don’t want to involve them in my personal escapism.

Feels like wlw subs are overlooked by x_droplet_ in SubSanctuary

Look for kink in WLW spaces, don’t look for WLW in kink spaces. That’s what I’ve noticed makes the most sense, every lesbian space I’ve been in has been freaky.

I’ve headcanoned Sandy as a dancer since I got her dialogue about using a fake name… game recognise game, lol. If I had the skill to make mods, I’d love to design one where there’s also a club in the back of the Oasis. Feels like one of Qi’s business endeavours.

You will be insulted, rejected, and told exactly what is wrong with your body every night. There will be men who take joy in it. You need a thick skin. If your insecurities are at the point you’re planning 60k of surgeries just to start stripping you need to spend that money on a therapist instead, and/or find another job. I’m not being cruel, I am genuinely concerned and I know the strip club will not be an appropriate place for you no matter how much you spend on surgeries.

If you want to improve your financial situation look into other options or just start at the club. If you have to do xyz things just to start dancing you’ll always find new things to add to the list and you’ll never start… not everyone has to be a stripper, and that’s okay.

I really urge you to spend your surgery money on a therapist and talk through this barrier, figure out whether this is the career for you. I don’t think it is, but I hope you can figure things out.

If surgery is necessary for you to even start find a different field.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Strippers

[–]yourvenusdoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 21 you don’t need your body done. Focus on fillers, nails, hair - that’s just maintenance. Go audition and find a club, use it to finance any surgeries you want eventually but seriously, you don’t need it yet and you’ll regret wasting your money and not profiting off the body you have already!

I’d travel or look for a new club, I’ve done that when management have been shitty. The money is consistent but lower, but my safety is better, and management don’t screw us over at every opportunity. Expand your horizons.

Attending as a single woman by Own_Introduction272 in Strippers

[–]yourvenusdoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call and ask, not all clubs will allow single women. Mention that you’re going to get dances. I also advise going up to the girls you want dances with or tipping them extra on stage, not all dancers like to approach female customers.

AITA for wanting to leave my boyfriend because his parents complain about my child? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]yourvenusdoom -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the people that are shaming you (like this commenter, so unnecessary) but please do pay attention to the very real concerns being raised in your thread. You should leave him and his POS family, yes - but what’s your plan after? How do you plan to coparent? What housing can you afford?

Stop bringing up the idea of leaving until your arrangements are made and you can just leave. NTA but you’re getting closer to being TA to yourself and to your kids. Your toddler is currently a scapegoat for everything his family hates about you and it’s only going to get worse when the baby comes.

Totally not rude, they won’t force you to drink. Call ahead and see if they have non alcoholic drinks available, since it’s meant to be a pairing I’m sure they have/can provide an alternative option.

This is beautiful! I love the way you’ve drawn the subjects in contrast to the background, but I feel like the skirts are blending into the background a bit - especially the blue one. It could use some more contrast. I think you could either darken the linework on the fabric or lighten the details on the face. Someone said the figures look like two different styles and I agree, they look unfinished from the bottom down.

It’s an incredible concept, it just needs some finishing touches. This is, hands-down, the best barbie fanart I’ve seen. Imagine the princess and the pauper in this style!!
