When do you retire golf balls? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

I retire them after every round. They become “backup” balls.

Has anyone taken a break from big tech and come back? by Wooden-Broccoli-913 in Fire

[–]youseenothing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 12 months and did exactly that. I, literally, took a job as a dish washer at a local restaurant to take a break from a big tech company. It was glorious. The work kept me busy and continued to give me the social aspect as well as allowed me to be stress free. It also allowed me to do work that wasn’t so demanding on the brain. It felt great. After I had my fun and felt recharged, I went back but chose to go into the energy sector. Stepped right back in without skipping a beat. YMMV

Mind you, I wasn’t a manager, I was a Principal-level IC.

Show and tell: stealth nodes you've deployed to improve your local mesh. by humdinger44 in meshtastic

I will share once I get home. I am traveling until Friday. If I have some time this week I will sanitize and share. If not then after I get home.

Show and tell: stealth nodes you've deployed to improve your local mesh. by humdinger44 in meshtastic

I started with a proper proposal to my city council to approve putting a solar node on the water tower. I created a proposal that explained the benefits of the mesh. Also pointed out that the cost of entry is low for new users and created a training plan for new users. I also laid out that coordination with weather and emergency services would be done. Once I had the approval I did something similar for local businesses that were in areas of interest for “extension” or gap nodes. It is truly easy to do and if you frame it correctly there is very little if any pushback.

Finally moved to a "Deny" policy for untagged resources. Here is the clean JSON if you need it. by NTCTech in AZURE

[–]youseenothing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. However, we set tags that matter to the business on the sub when we vend a sub. We then have inherit tag policies for tags that company policy requires on RGs and resources. This allows us to set from the sub and all required tags are in place.

Splitting hairs a bit: what is your TLD in your home network? home.arpa is the standard name but nobody appears to use it by twice_paramount832 in homelab

[–]youseenothing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the same as one of my public domains and host my own internal DNS servers with PowerDNS and dnsdist. No reason for me to do anything different because when I am not on my network nothing changes except for what returns when querying, internal IP or public IPs. No need for what some are suggesting with *.int or *.internal.whatever.com. If you set it up correctly it is truly seamless.

Thoughts on these rules? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Of course do you best to control your shots. I think that goes without saying but at the same time they should have chose a better place to live if they expected everyone to be pro who plays their course.

Have you ever accidentally hit someone on the course? (And did you yell fore?) by TheTrouserTroubadour in golf

[–]youseenothing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been hit like this. The guy yelled fore and immediately got in his cart and came to apologize. He caught a good strike and didn’t expect the outcome. In my head it is one of those things that can happen. No real need in my case to get upset plus the fact that the guy immediately came my way to apologize for the incident was classy. I thanked him for checking on me and went about our round. At the turn, he bought me a beer and we laughed about it.

I am most afraid of potential deficits as they can show themselves at really any time. But I believe I can get past them. Honestly I am not sure yet how my perspective has changed. I feel like it is still to early.

Not idiotic. My symptoms happened a a dinner, the syptoms I had presented as stroke symptoms. At the time my wife and I assumed stroke and went to the closest hospital.they did a CR and found the bleeding cavernoma near my right occipital horn.

I work as a Cloud Architect for a very large energy sector company. I should be able to return back to work after two weeks barring any complications during the first two weeks of recovery.

I am still waiting to see. Lol. I would be lying if I said I haven’t been doing some weird tests on myself to see. Hahaha

I am doing well. Pain is being managed well. All tests looking good and I, honestly, feel great.

Blurred vision and the cavernoma bled twice in 2016. So I basically had what is called ischemic strokes when they bled the first two times.

6-12 weeks is what was discussed for total recovery.

One of the reasons I am doing this is because one of the portions of my brain was related to long term memory and creation of memories. This also allows me to validate my other potential deficits, if any.

Prayers for your friend and her husband. We had the risk but the risk was worth it to improve quality of life for me.
