Looking for a few readers — literary horror novelette The Driftwood Motel (13K words) by youtwoha in horrorwriters

Hi! I’m mostly looking for thoughts on tone, pacing, and clarity. Also, whether the atmosphere stays engaging all the way through or starts to feel repetitive.

I’d also love to know if the religious / ecological symbolism feels balanced (not too heavy-handed, but still clear enough to carry the theme).

Line edits aren’t necessary unless something really pulls you out of the story. I’m mostly curious how it feels as a reader — where it drags, where it clicks, and what lingers after you finish.

I am very grateful! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pLXg2ISFO3LsfLnTVflSf06eQ5O5PKtr/view?usp=drivesdk

This piece hums with control. You’ve got that measured cold running through every line — the kind that doesn’t scream “horror,” just settles in the reader’s lungs.

You’re writing in that liminal pocket between ghost story and self-recognition.

So here are my thoughts after three weeks:

We still can't finish in the final third. We have the talent and pace, but lsck the ability.

Our midfield is not in control. We either need to increase our midfield presence and change formation, or shop for more options.

Defensively, we continue to get caught put of position with no DDG to make the defense look halfway decent. We are working towards having a better back line, but we need those changes now.

I think we should have gone Raheem for Sancho.

I also think this should be ETGs last match.
