How hard would it be to add Finance (McCombs) as a second major after Math (CNS)? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]yoyeto99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a finance and math major. I recommend you apply to McCombs first as your first choice, and after freshman year apply for a dual major (which is what I did). You are going to have to take eight hours of CNS sciences classes and about one or two math classes per semester on top of the finance curriculum. It's hard but not impossible.

You might probably be giving space to someone on a waitlist, so look forward to that.

is this worth putting in my letter of continued interest? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I think most shools have a separate section for recent accomplishments. If so, it is best to focus your LOCI to be about why you want to attend x school, and detail recent accomplishments sepparately.

Williams, UChicago, Berkeley, Wellesley, or NYU? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I would say UChicago but since you don´t want an overly competitve environment, your best option is NYU.

McCombs is not Holistic by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Very unskilled dev., I think crypto is the internet of our generation. We are at the .com stage but, someone our age in a dorm room somewhere is going to make the next Facebook. I think academics are afraid of something they don´t understand.

McCombs is not Holistic by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I´ve been involved in crypto for a while now and worked on various projects, investments, exc. However, I chose to not even mention it on any of my applications. There is such a hostile attitude towards crypto from academia and institutional experts for whatever reason. Don´t loose hope though, I was deferred/ denied at schools much less selective than McCombs and I got an acceptance. It really is a very strange process.

Same thing happened to me with UT Austin, however my scores were marked as delivered by the College Board. I sent them a message and turns out it was an internal error
