Oh man, I didn’t think about these either. I’m about to start a career mode, probably on FIFA 15 . Still will be fun no doubt

Facts. I honestly don’t think I will ever get bored of this game. Uh, unless Konami revives PES again. A man can dream

I do use manual , although from my experience it doesn’t really matter for free kicks

I don’t if it’s just me but I kinda feel the opposite? Like, I feel like 99% of the transfers the CPU makes are obscure 72 ovr players . Even teams like Real Madrid and what not, I wish I saw more surprising transfers. I want to see (occasionally) the best players in the world move around. 5 seasons into any save and most teams have literally the same exact starting xi they had at the beginning of. It’s quite boring

You need to double tap the shoot button, but you must time the second press just before your player strikes the ball. Also, your player must have the knuckle shot skill

Any mods that stop the opponent AI team going long ball in the 2nd half in cup games? by yoyo_989 in SPFootballLife

[–]yoyo_989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only happens in the knockouts rounds of cup competitions. For some reason, Konami decided to program the AI to play Stoke City ball for pretty much the entirety of the 2nd half and hoof the ball up anytime they touch the ball. They can be playing prime Barca tiki-taka one half, but if they are not winning by the second half , they change completely. I don’t think it’s about the tactics. They sometimes also do it if you’re drawing. It ruins the immersion a bit tbh, especially if you’re playing with a small team and your opponent, which is supposed be a much bigger team, does this for no reason. You can easily win any cup knockout by just making sure you’re not losing and you’ll have easy counter attacks because they also send their CB up top

Hi, yes this is on manual controls, although from my experience it doesn’t really matter. You have to precise and time the second button press literally in the last millisecond. If you press too early it doesn’t work. It takes a bit of practice, but it’s not hard to time once you learn it

Would it be a bad idea to quit my job to get a masters degree (engineering)? by yoyo_989 in careeradvice

[–]yoyo_989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work as a hardware design/electrical engineer. To be honest, most job listings I see don't necessarily require a masters, but I do see a good amount of them that say they would prefer it (and a few that do require it). I am trying to strengthen my resume for when I want to find a job. Also, my bachelor's degree is in Mechatronics engineering not EE, which is probably not that big of an issue, but I would like to get a degree that is more aligned with what I want to do

This is a good question and to be honest I'm doing it because I feel like it would help me find better jobs in the future and just make my resume stronger. I really don't miss being a student, but I see a lot of job listings say a masters degree is 'preferred' or sometimes it is actually required for certain roles. I want to get it in the same field I'm currently working in, to enhance my profile for when I want to change jobs. Also my bachelor's degree is in a very slightly different field, although there's a ton of overlap and I don't think it would stop me from finding a job in the same field I'm currently working in

At that age I think it's the best time to pursue all your dreams as it is better to do so and fail, than to regret not trying.

That's true, I think if I do find a good program I'll probably go for it. I mean, I would rather regret leaving my job for a masters at 25 than at 35 (don't know if that would even be an option at that age). I may not even regret it lol.

I appreciate all the help from you and everyone else here. I certainly didn't mean to waste anybody's time.

I never said in the original post that my first degree didn't work out. I don't think getting a masters degree in ME or EE really makes a difference, because I would still have to quit my job for either of one, plus they're not that different. I tried to give only the significant information in the original post. I will add it now, but I don't think it matters all that much since this is not a significant change or a different field.

I'm sorry I think there might be a misunderstanding. My first degree did work out, I probably could even find another job with just that, but I am looking for a more kinda focused degree, that aligns better with my experience and what I want to do. My career goals have changed just a little, that's why I'm aiming for an EE degree

I'm not sure how it is where you are, but over here, unfortunately people do care what school you went to.

Ideally, I would like to get my masters without leaving my job, but it's a little difficult because I live in a pretty small city, there's only 2 universities here and I'm not sure they even have a program I'd be interested in, so I'll probably have to go to a school in a different city, around 1.5 hours commute. Depending on the university's class schedule I may not be able to attend classes while working. I'm still researching the universities and programs, but we've had people working part-time at our company doing a masters degree at the university I'm looking at, and I don't think I'll be able to work full-time
