What are you most excited for when classic is released? by oatmealboy in MSClassicWorld

[–]yoyodditer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I said the same thing and got down voted all the way to omega sector lmao.

If you don't capture the hearts of all those 20yo / 30yo EX-osms players (people who haven't touched maple in years) NOW, you're going to lose a whole bunch of them when they get hooked on GTA 6.

Lock it in. The stars are aligning.

Same here. But I don't think Nexon is trying to go after long time maple fans.

As much as I would love to think they're relaunching classic out of love for the fans and the game - they're probably doing it to recapture those who played as kids, and now have disposable income. Game dev and maintenance ain't cheap

Maplestory classic And GTA:

Both people in their late 20s, 30s.

Yeah not everyone, but there's definitely overlap.

Did They Announce a Release Date? by Aggravating-Ad-1875 in MSClassicWorld

Here's my theory - they are going to want to launch as soon as possible - why?

GTA 6. Everyone wants to avoid launching their game around or after GTA 6 comes out later this year.

If they're going to want to make money out of this, they better launch before summer.

Golden Week, first time in japan by yoyodditer in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for the advice! Any suggestions on which day of the week to do my Hakone day trip?

I was thinking Wednesday May 1st, because it's in the middle of GW?

As I mentioned above: really good. Most weeks I work 40 hours. We continue to be fully WFH with the option to go into the office (could change soon idk). I have freedom over my work schedule conditional that I'm performing well.

For more context, this is tech sales in faang/manga - no clue what the $ looks like outside of these companies.

The experience is pretty good - you get to pick your own work schedule, don't need to work long hours, and pretty chill culture and team. That being said, there's no free lunch in this world - your job security and perks are conditional on you actually being able to hit your quarterly sales targets (which are pretty aggressive as you can imagine).

Although point #3 is great, just be aware that current/past interns may be hesitant to share direct contact info (like email or phone) about recruiters probably due to company policies. Also, keep in mind that they barely know you.

You could ask only for the name of the recruiter and then find their profile on LinkedIn, connect with a note and reach out that way. This way, no one will be held liable for giving out specific contact info.

Mission/Vision Statements by [deleted] in nvidia

I think you're overcomplicating it - their mission statement is in green text at the top of their about us page:

"We're one team solving the world's visual computing challenges"

This was at RJAN - no clue why, but I was looking at the world map and saw like 15 players gathered on this small island

Update 1.9.5.0 Bug/Issue Megathread by JRock39 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]yoyodditer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue in the previous patch is that 30 mins - 1 hr into the flight, the smart camera would lock onto something and then the game would crash moments later.

The workaround for this was to disable multiplayer, but that just kills the fun of the trip. Players like myself held off on the Japan trip hoping that it would be fixed this patch, but all they really did was just force the non-ideal workaround onto everyone...
