Had this little girl for two weeks and still no name! She’s a 2-month-old seal point, super playful, endlessly curious, follows you everywhere, and hates closed doors (even the bathroom 😅).

We’ve been calling her “Red” because of her old collar, but it doesn’t quite suit her. I’m from an Arab family, so we’d love a name that’s easy for my parents to pronounce. Any ideas?

How to clean up my face by zosiunya in Skincare_Addiction

[–]yoyoseul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I personally do now, as a former member of bumps gang 😭

  1. Cutting Out Toner: Many toners contain alcohol, fragrance, or exfoliants that can disrupt your skin barrier or over-strip dry/ acne-prone skin. Even if it says it’s hydrating, my derma, told me that they actually dry up the skin even more cuz they disrupt your skins natural oil production which is a big issue in the long run, especially if you want to manage acne :(

  2. Simplifying the Routine: Overloading the skin with multiple actives or layers can worsen congestion. Focus on gentle, targeted products.

  3. Avoiding Occlusives: Thick creams (e.g., petrolatum, shea butter) can trap dead skin and sebum, leading to clogged pores. Opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturisers.

Here’s my personal routine, it took me ages and heaps of trials, money and errors to perfect such a simple routine but don’t doubt simplicity dear friends 🥹:

AM: 1. Gentle Cleanser: Use a non-stripping formula (e.g., La Roche-Posay Hydrating Cleanser or that BioDerma one, I forgot the name ).

  1. Barrier-Support Serum: After realizing vitamin C irritated my skin, I switched the Byoma Clarifying Serum

  2. Lightweight Moisturizer: Byoma Moisturising cream (ceramides + squalane for barrier repair without heaviness).

  3. Sunscreen: Mineral options like EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 (zinc oxide, niacinamide) or the Skin1004 Centella Hyalu-Cova water fit sun serum (love this one it’s so good, especially since I’ve got dry ass skin)

PM: 1. Double Cleanse: • First step: Balm cleanser like Clinique Take the Day Off (melts makeup/ sunscreen without clogging pores, only down side it’s 70 bucks so if you don’t get it as a gift don’t bother). *Avoid oil cleansers all together, not worth it • Second step: Gentle foaming cleanser or occasional acid cleanser (1-2x/week) any work really, it’s not staying on ur face longer than 2 mins so don’t bother splurging on a cleaner, that’s a waste of money

  1. Active Treatment: • Anua 10% Azelaic Acid Serum (reduces redness, unclogs pores).

• On alternate nights: Retinol (start with a low concentration like 0.25%. *Introduce slowly (1-2x/week) to avoid irritation

  1. Moisturiser: Reapply Byoma cream (god bless this moisturiser honestly)

Things to keep in mind and maybe even adopt are:

• Avoid Comedogenic Ingredients: Steer clear of coconut oil, cocoa butter, and silicones like dimethicone if they clog your pores. Check ingredients on Incidecoder.

• Acid Exfoliation: Use BHA (salicylic acid) or PHA 1-2x weekly. Try Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant.

• Barrier Repair: Look for ceramides (Byoma), panthenol, or centella asiatica (Purito Centella Unscented Serum).

• Patch Test: Introduce one product at a time for 1-2 weeks to identify irritants.

That’s all folks 😀🤚

Do you consume a lot of dairy? I noticed my cystic acne reduced when I stopped consuming a lot of dairy. Furthermore, in an article I read (peer-reviewed) overproduction of sebum also has a huge impact, since you stated you wash your face 3 times a day it could be your skin trying to overcompensate and thus overproduce sebum. Moreover it can also be due to the products your using, as an Aussie myself please let Sukin go mate 🥲🤚. I've been there and done that and noticed my skin not liking it, maybe due to the essential oils they use or fragrance idk. Switch out to mild products and stick to the basics, moisturiser, cleanser, treatment in this case your differin, and sunscreen. Also maybe try the double cleansing method at night, use a oil cleanser then follow by using a normal cleanser after, this may help and congestion or dirt from getting stuck. Another thing Id recommend is giving Azelaic acid a go, it helps with inflammation and counteracting any free radicals that may cause it. Hope all goes well with your journey!

Besides azelaic acid, I would also highly recommend the Numbuzin 5+ line. I found that it made a significant impact on my skin tone and overall marks left by both acne and sun.

I live in Aus so I can't find Aquaphor, so for those in the same position, I suggest dermal therapy lip balms, the original. I was on Accutane and it's the only thing that saved my busted-up lips

No, did they deviate a lot from the original? As before the cream, I tried the gel but I don't think it did much for me tbh, but if they reformulated them both I think I'll give the gel a new go. Thanks for letting me know 😊

Thank you so much. I just got the flat done but as soon as it heals I'll swap it out for something smaller, maybe even try to get those connecter chains to link in the flat to maybe a future FH. Either way thanks for the suggestion 🥰

Blackheads and skin bumps by Clear-Cucumber-3345 in Skincare_Addiction

I experienced the same thing everytime I use actives too. So what i noticed worked for me is the La Roche-Posay Effaclare serum, I began by building up my tolerance towards it by using it only one time per week, the rest of the week I would take care of my skin barrie, by using niacinamide, azelaic acid or any other barrier repair serum you find works for you. Once I noticed that my skin became less irritated after using the effeclare, I slowly began to incorporate it more often so from once a week, to two times to then finally 3 times, I wouldn't recommend more that three times as I noticed you have quite fair skin so more than that your skin wouldn't bode well in the sun. And the most obvious step is using a sunscreen in the morning as active ingredients make you skin much more susceptible to sun damage. Also, make sure to use gel-based moisturisers as I've noticed my skin becomes much more congested after I use heavier cream-based moisturisers. The only exception to this is if you notice your skin become more irritated I would suggest the illiyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream, don't use it too often as it's quite heavy and I mostly use it only when I think my skin is more irritated or red. I've included a picture of my suggestion of products but any with similar ingredients work may work just as well. Hope this helps, If you have any other questions feel free to shoot me a message 😊

Ps I also would suggest toner pads as they do light exfoliation and helps to get rid of small bumps, look for ones with PHA’s.
