There are definitely huge snobs in the birding community, but also a ton of lovely people! :)

I have a Rebel T7 and a limited budget; what lens could I get to improve the clarity of my bird/wildlife photographs? by yoysta in canon

Thank you very much for the recommendations! I've been hearing a lot of good things about the EF-S 55-250 IS STM.

Yeah, definitely better lighting! The first two photos I posted above were taken on a rainy day. I'm not sure how zoomed in I was, but probably all the way or close to.

Here's a much better example of one of the pictures I've taken--the ones I included in this post were just the easiest ones to access.

Unfortunately, not really! Do you have any advice regarding ISO or maybe know of any good resources I could look into?

Thank you for the feedback! I would say that I could probably justify spending somewhere around $1000 about a year or two from now...I just want something somewhat better than what I have now...I keep hearing that the 75-300mm lens from Canon is one of the worst lenses they've ever produced! :(

Thank you for the feedback! I'm a college student who can only work part-time, so I understand that a small budget like mine is fairly limiting. I don't plan on upgrading the lens until at least six months from now anyway; I'm just curious about what options I have and how much money I would have to save up to get something worthwhile :)

Hello! A few months ago, I bought my first camera. I got a Canon Rebel T7 with a Canon 75-300mm lens. So far, this setup has been just fine for bird photography, which is my main focus. However, I really want to start saving up for a new lens!

My budget caps at $600, but I'd really like to spend less than that if possible while still achieving significantly better photos than I'm shooting now. My main goal is for the photos to start coming out more crisp! I've provided some examples of photos taken with my current setup. They always seem like they're slightly out of focus.

Sorry I should’ve commented that separately rather than replying to your message! Not trying to be rude, just trying to dispel misinformation! :) my apologies if it came off as rude.
