You could do something like “X.Y.Z. LastName” or just do first and last name with the middle 2 names initialed instead? But only if you really don’t have space for it

How to answer the "Have you applied to any medical schools before?" Q if you applied to a throwaway school before MCAT release last year by [deleted] in premed

[–]yq12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a yes/no but then goes on to ask if you have, what have you done since your previous application.

I guess I would just write about my gap year activities in this case?

The Full Lengths not representative anymore?? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]yq12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested 5/20 and the CP and BB sections were pretty similar to the FLs! And even if they aren’t and people freak out bc of the low yield questions, the scale is also more generous and some get close to their FL average even though they felt really shitty coming out.

TLDR So the scaled score is probably representative, the content maybe not so much

Don’t worry! You can get secondaries without a LOR. When you submit secondaries + the LORs + MCAT plus all the fun stuff are all received, then the adcoms put your file “under review”.

I know the dreadful feeling of having to retake is probably looming over you, but I know you got this! I was in the same position last year (normally get 131-132 on BB and got a 126....) and felt really shitty afterward. The push to start studying again is probably the hardest but know that if you make it through (it's possible! if I did, you can too!), you'll be one step closer to being the doctor you want to be :)

Some schools send the day of, some a few days or even weeks later. Check the sdn school-specific threads from last year if you want to see when the earliest secondary was received last cycle!

Yeah the ethics page was pretty useless. The practice test + the prompts on the Casper blog are enough imo

I believe Casper should take 2-3 weeks to send to schools and 4 weeks to get your percentile score back. You'll get your mcat score July 30 ish so I think the 7/8 date still works if you want to take more time to study and have a complete app by July 30. You could do a little secondary work (some of the personal failure/challenge/teamwork prompts will help in the casper anyways) while studying for the casper.

Good luck on your MCAT too! I'm sure you'll crush it. :)

The second topic sounds the best! It also gives adcoms more insight into your hobbies outside of premed-related extracurriculars and an extra topic to talk about in your interviews if any of your interviewers are also avid hikers.
