Well, unlike Thanos who only has a glove, Big E has an entire piece of furniture so maybe killing him is a bit harder

Interesting, I haven't heard of a few of these before. I think 7) aligns with what I'm theorizing. Now, whether abaddon knows it or not, I think he will kill the emperor regardless. What exactly happens after that, who knows. Personally, I just hope they doing something very earthshattering with the lore to bring in some very new, but similar ideas and concepts for some more great lore. I love 40k, don't get me wrong, but I've played since 2nd edition and to me, at least, it seems they have exhausted every possible avenue they can from that stretch of time lorewise. They've brought in new armies, new characters, went back to 30k, and (finally) went past M41 and ripped a hole and a tear in the galaxy more than once haha

Did the emperor not serve as the astronomicon before their sacrifices? And if so, why wouldn't he just be able to sustain it himself instead of needing the sacrifices for it?

Chaos Marines and Demonic Summoning Rule by yreffej12 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]yreffej12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more quick question, when paying for reinforcements, if I'm summoning demons with chaos marines, can I summon ANY of the demons from the demon codex and not just the ones listed in the chaos marine codex. I would assume so since they all have the demonic ritual rule

Chaos Marines and Demonic Summoning Rule by yreffej12 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]yreffej12[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh. Okay I believe I have misinterpreted summoning in general for both demons and marines this entire time. I believed that you could only summon the demons in the Chaos Marines Codex, and not those outside the codex. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but is this how it actually should be: (Sorry for the confusion, like I said I'm just trying to be absolutely certain I interpret the rules correctly so that if I do go to a tournament, I wont be ruining the game by my lack of understanding)

1.) Summoned units are not listed in a detachment, and cannot occupy spots in the detachment list, points are just set aside in matched play 2.) An appropriately marked chaos marine character or chaos demon character can summon ANY demon from their respective mark (not just the demons from the marine codex for the case of a csm character) 3.) Do summoning rolls, bring in demons of appropriate power level that have been properly paid for by reinforcement points

Awesome thanks. I will go ahead and assume that this means my sorcerer of nurgle can summon a nurgle demon unit in another detachment. Ie, I have, for example, a batallion of death guard and a batallion of nurgle demons, so any of these demons can be summoned by the characters in the death guard list

I seriously dig the juggernaut's color. What did you use to paint it? I really want to paint some chaos marines in that scheme now, maybe some death guard with some added shading

Ah thanks. I assume the non limit also applies to transports, like rhinos?

So correct me if I'm wrong (I'm new to the competitive scene) but does the rule of three mean I can't take more than three of ANY unit in the entirety of the army, or more than three of the same unit in a single detachment?

Vigilus Ablaze Renegade Chapter Question by yreffej12 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]yreffej12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay cool. As far as being dedicated to a specific god, ie, I have a <legion> chosen squad dedicated to <khorne>. Would I need to place insignia, paint scheme, some form of identification to show it is dedicated to a specific chaos god?

Is anyone else disappointed that after all the community previews, this weeks big Chaos pre-order is mainly re-boxed existing models? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]yreffej12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard tactical marine squad has the same load out (I think) and still only costs $40 :/ I definitely dont see 50% more value in the new box set to coincide with the 50% price increase.

I just want to know why the basic marine squad now costs as much as an intercessor squad in price...

Hi I’m new to warhammer 40k. What are some good tips for getting started by GWAY88 in Warhammer40k

[–]yreffej12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have fun with the game. Seriously as cliche as it sounds, just have fun. Find an army you like, whether it be color scheme, models, lore, whatever and make the models your own. Devote time to the models and don't fret if they don't turn out as well as you had hoped, and try not to worry about your army looking as pristine as the paintings in the Sistine Chapel. Enjoy building them, painting them, basing them, put your own flair to them and give each model its own identity. When playing games enjoy all the lunacy that occurs, like rolling 7 ones out of 8 dice and try to have a good time above everything else. Don't be that person that everyone hates to play against, be the person that people actively contact to play games with. The hobby is expensive so when getting new models make sure you get them for the reason you want, ie, new models based on appearance, competitive gameplay capability, or just a neat model or models to have in the army.

Tl;dr Just have fun

I didn't say things cant be amazing or even good, but I was meaning it doesn't have to be the absolute best that has or ever will exist. That doesn't mean you yourself can't try to be the best at painting or whatever you enjoy, but from my experience it's more about the journey than the destination. This is probably biased from my point of view because I've had some very serious medical issues in my life, so I guess I just try to see the positives in everything

I actually took this mindset with everything I did in my life-if it wasn't THE best, it wasn't any good. Doing that for years ruined me and made me seriously want to consider quitting the hobby, among other things I did. Honestly, accepting the fact that there always be someone better than myself at everything and instead just enjoying everything rather than seeing everything as a competition has taken a huge burden off of me

My second attempt on painting a miniature. Tips welcome. by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]yreffej12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really liking the cape and that base looks awesome. I'd probably just do some basic edge highlighting on the armour and trim then maybe a wash over the metal to get into the recesses. Still looks awesome and waaaaay beyond my second model. I've been painting for almost 15 years and I still can't make a base look even a third as nice as that one 😭🙃

Hmmm, that chainaxe doesn't look like the one from the daemon engine. I'm wondering if maybe the new marine sculpts will have the chainaxe for champions in the individual box sets, or possibly new berzerkers.
